Oh SteveZ,

I sure hope so.

I have also heard that there is a brand new one in the works.

It has a built-in alarm, in case you become too engrossed in the game or you start laughing too hard or you have way too many beer rounds.

That one is to be called the Don't Forget To Go Wee-Wee wii

Now, I really have to get out of here. ;D

I believe their sales slogan is "Wii, the people...."

Have you see their new commercial with the animated piglets that resemble little toes:

This little piggy went to market.
This little piggy stayed at home.
This little piggy had roast beef,
This little piggy had none.
And this little piggy went "Wii! Wii! Wii!" all the way home.

My grandkids have one, and I know it really tires them out. Lots of assisted living homes are getting them. We have a relative of a relative who lives in a group home. We were telling him, they should get a WII and he said they already have one!

I never thought about buying one for myself. It sounds like fun, but I'm the type to get "addicted." When I was into computer games, my DH said he got tired of seeing me from the back. :) :) :) :)

njgranny,

Do you feel the addiction of TOTV creeping in yet? If you feel you need help, we have a TOTV support group, its a huge group with many addicted people who will welcome you with open arms. ;)

woops! back to wiwi! (something your grandchildren do in the potty?)

This is an update on a thread that I started here long ago. Actually last March. But hey, guess what! I finally bought a wii. I would never stand in line for one. But last night we wandered into Best Buy and they actually had some for sale. No lines. So I bought one.

This probably means that I am hopelessly passe because everybody else has some newer generation one of these things or something. But oh well, I am hanging around the mailbox waiting for the pet rock and mood ring I just ordered to arrive.

I just wondered how everybody is doing with the wii. I keep pretending there is hope that it could help me hit a real golf ball that goes somewhere, once in awhile.

So anyway, anything new with the world of wii?

Boomer

You will have a great time with your new toy...

I just received the WII Fit program..( imagine someone...and I will not name who....gave this to me for a birthday present) ..I have had so many laughs trying to the fitness program...but I am having a great time with it....

So Boomer enjoy and practice alot and when you are in TV, we can get together and
WII ................

We have one and greatly enjoy it. My wife has MS and cannot stand for the physical activity but she can bowl and golf while sitting on a chair so it works great for her too. I play College Football 2009 with it.

This I can respond to...

Boomer and other Wii lovers!

I LOVE the Wii....and I am not a sports person at all! HOWEVER....I am a Pro at Tennis, Golf, Bowling and Baseball!!! I can't believe it....actually in Tennis....my score is so high (2300+) that I now have to play as a new Mii....so I have some challenge!

Ofcourse put in the real thing and I stink!! It actually got me to be really active again! Since we got it ( xmas 07) I have lost 40 pds!!! Not really because of the Wii but because it got me moving again!!!

But as a family activity it so much fun! We have also hosted Wii parties....and that is GREAT fun...getting to make Mii's for our friends coming to dinner ( :1rotfl: )and then playing with them!

I would LOVE to try Wii fit....I think I would really get into it! It is hard playing in the Villa though....our home in NY had VERY high ceilings! Here they are not as high and I think we are going to hit the ceiling fan one too many times! :1rotfl: :duck:

Anyone that has a Wiifit and wants to sell...I will buy....otherwise I have to convince the family that it is good for all of us!! :MOJE_whot:

Yes to all the above.

[QUOTE=Boomer BeBack;113781]Mr. Boomer and I were talking about buying a wii, but, in truth, we have no idea what we are talking about.

A discussion started on here somewhere awhile back. And yesterday when I was squinting at the "Daily Sun" recreation section online, I saw that somebody wants to start a club. So I thought maybe I could find some answers to my wii questions here on TOTV.

So here goes:

Can we count playing with a wii as exercise of any significant amount? - or hey, even semi-significant would be better than what we have been doing all winter.

And, does this thing hold any promise of helping to improve hand-eye coordination? (mine -Mr. B is coordinated.)

-or could we at least hope to collapse into a heap of laughter while trying to play?

So if anybody out there can help us with our decision on whether or not to buy a wii, we would truly appreciate the advice.

My wife and I purchased a Wii Console, Wii Fit, and Mario Kart about a month ago. I've been using the Fit for daily exercise and conditioning and we've enjoyed playing golf, bowling, tennis, and boxing with our friends. Heaps of laughter aplenty. If you want improved hand-eye coordination, any of the Wii Sports games will help you improve as well as the Mario Kart racing game.

You'll love it! Go for it.

First Boomer convinces me to sit on a rubber ball at the computer, now it's a wii, what is next?

OK, OK, I'm convinced. Just wondering, approximate cost?

about $230-250 unless they have changed the price and depending on taxes

mm, when taking an hour long "walk" using a segway are you stressing your legs in a way equal to an hour of standing?
