Does anyone remember hearing Wolf man Jack back in the 60's...........
I was stationed at Edwards Air Force Base in California before going overseas and remember listening to him at night. He was a blast!
ARE YOUR PEACHES SWEET?

I have an old record that plays songs for the sixties and one song has Wolfman Jack talking. What a great voice.

He was big in the New York area as well as others. He was one of a kind.

For about $10 a month a person can setup his own stream of wvlg thru the Internet .... Just feed a earphone jack into your sound card an away you go...I have been tempted to do this ..if someone does this post a link here...I have does this with high school sports for friends in Iraq. It works like a champ.

TWO questions
1- Would anyone like to help?

2- How do you feel about another station?

Comments please...
Thanks,
Alan

When we finally move there in a few years, if you still need help, I would love to do that. That has always interested me.

I have a C Crane Radio and I live almost 870 miles north of The Villages, I want so badly to listen to this station. I enjoyed it alot when I was down there and I'd like to be able to pick it up from Olney, IL...what's the best way to do that? Thank you for your kind response.

I didn't know that could be done...I'd like to know more.

Try WVLG 640 AM

You should be able to do a download and be able to access streaming audio. Many radio stations are available this way.

Thank you for the site, I downloaded the FLV Player from the site, but it needs a file...how do I get that?

I downloaded the program and WVLG could not be found. With further Google searching I found an indication on one of the streaming sites that the station is not currently streaming. I'm presuming that it's WVLG that doesn't stream rather that the site I found itself doesn't stream.

Ahhh, what a let down.

I didn't get that message and was able to listen to what was available. I would have no clue why you're being asked to download it, but you can find numerous placees where you can do so at FLV Player - Google Search

I have the right one now, thank you. However, I'm still not sure how to download the Villages Radio station.

Why WVLG ??

What is the attraction of WVLG? It's a small AM station in TV that plays a 50/60's format. Is it the music or the local news, or .... ????

If you use TuneIn Radio [for example], you get more than 50,000 radio stations, worldwide. For sure, any music format you can imagine.

Just curious the attraction to this station ???

Another solution is a smart phone. There are several radio apps that you can purchase that will give you a large selection to choose from. Also, chances are that your favorite stations back home have free apps that stream their signal. I know that WFAN in NY is one of them. I use an iPod Touch, with WIFI, on the nightstand with an ear bud & listen to station all over the country for free.

RichieB 02-15-2012 08:50 AM

She probably wants to use it to hear local info about The Villages.

I'm interestedd in that, too.

RichieB 02-15-2012 02:50 PM

My apologies to DeborahL for the misleading info. The concept is correct, but, in fact, WVLG does not stream audio. Probably had a different station in mind. :(
