That being said, it is much easier to make edited videos about a person no one really knows, since there is nothing really to compare them to. Sen. Obama is just such a person. Four years ago he was a State senator picked as a party rising star. For 2 1/2 more years he was just another freshman US senator with no senate record other than almost totally voting "party line" when he did vote. His charisma got him into the primaries, and a lackluster field of opponents brought him into the party semi-finals. He still has not submitted any legislation of note (being a co-sponsor doesn't count, as they basically are "pre-voting"), but has published two books during that time frame. Based on being such an unknown, it is not surprising that edited videos make the rounds, as ANY information about Sen. Obama is news in itself. So, whenever something appears in cyber-space, it's treated as a potential "source" rather than just another unsubstantiated item. Oddball stuff is now coming out on Gov. Palin for the same reason. She's a virtual unknown outside of the Northwest, so the cartoons, edited videos and oh-did-you-hear-that junk has an eager market, especially among those who are more concerned with slamming the person than verifying credentials. One would think we would all know better by now than deal with the rumor/distortion market, no matter which of the four candidates is the target. However, when little is there to start with, that's what always seems to happen. |

We both agree that unsubstantiated claims beget corroboration from the serious inquirer. Hopefully, most will seek confirmation before becoming a convert. Better still would be the candidates themselves providing substance versus generalizations and self-platitudes, especially on questions of political relationships and their advisor corps. For me, that would give me some idea who owes whom, thus having a better idea whose names will be added into the 2009 edition of the Plum Book. |

Bin Liden nor to that nut job in N. Korea... You say all of this has been proven to be true....where is the proof? Show it to me. Lastly President Bush has in the past few days proven himself to be a socialist...you need to look of the definition. These bank takeovers define socialism. |
I was unable to view the video when I clicked the link, thus no comments on the specific video, HOWEVER, as many may know my basic problem is with Sen Obama's past associations....actually the ONLY thing to judge him on....and the sources I have given include the Chicago Newspapers....CBS news, etc. No fabricated videos or anything.
Again....without seeing the video but assuming it has to do with Sen Obama's past associations it is of concern to me. I DO think some of it gets overdone and terribly blown out of proportion and out of context, but then again it pales in the light of what has been done to Gov Palin. I will only say that associations do count especially in the case of Sen Obama since there is absolutely nothing else to judge him on except for being a great orator (he wins that hands down). Not one person has been able to contradict the past posts on him and I still believe there is more to come on this before the election ! Sorry for such a long post since I didnt even see the video and if it was a hatchet job with edited stuff, I would be opposed...there is enough out there without that kind of stuff ! |
It would be interesting to see how you all view the administration's performance over the last 8 years if it was a Democratic presidency. There would be bloodshed in the streets! Bill Clinton couldn't keep it in his pants and there was a $40M investigationbythe Republicans and an impeachment, despite a no-war, no spending debt administration handed to George W. He got the blame for everything that went wrong over the next 6 years. Now we have record debt, failure of banks, housing markets in the toilet, no end to war, with it cost and loss of life, record unemployment, the worst image of Americans around the world in history, and Osama Bin Lama still free! If it was a Democratic administration you would be screaming IMPEACHMENT! Now you want to reward the Republicans with 4 more years of leadership. It is unbelieveable!

To be honest and straightforward with you Nomadman, I have said from the beginning that I looked long and hard, even in 2004 for an alternative. I am not as much PRO Sen McCain as I am totally afraid of Sen Obama. I cannot vote to change JUST FOR CHANGE SAKE...it makes no sense to me, more especially in this years election.
In my opinion we have in Sen Obama (and I am not talking about him as a human being or anything) a radical left winger and with a Democratic Congress that spells something much much worse than Sen McCain. The radical left has now TOTALLY taken over the Democratic party...I understand your frustration but from my corner I will not simply hand the keys over to someone I consider a radical left wing person JUST TO SAY I MADE A CHANGE ! |
You post a link to a video while out and out lies but you say its been proven to be true.
Where is your proof? |

Cologal....I have not seen the video as I said so no comment specifically on it, but if I am understanding the general trend here, would you like me to post all that I have on the associations and voting and such in Illinois ? Gee...I agreed with you on the National Enquirer stuff :) |

No Proof
Still we have no proof regarding this video. The poster says all of this has been proven....but offers no one piece of supportive evidence.
They posted a complete lie and run away and hide. SHAME SHAME SHAME |

The issue is further expanded by the acceptance by aspiring State Senator Obama of a $200 campaign contribution from his colleague, William Ayers. Whether that acceptance was a "lack of judgment" or "thanks, my friend" act, depends on one's viewpoint. When campaign contributions became public records, politicians began to scrutinize very tightly where the funds came from, and returned contributions from those whose interests or backgrounds could be damaging downstream through inferred linkage to actions, positions, intent or policy. That's why there is so much attention to Sen. Obama and his Freddie Mac / Fannie Mae connections - over $125K in campaign contributions from the institutions and his reliance on former Fannie Mae CEO James Johnson to vet potential vice presidential prospects. Both campaigns are spending a great amount of effort to "educate' the public on the associates of the rival candidate to demonstrate the other guy is no angel. It cuts both ways, and ignoring one while hyping the other is just tunnel vision. |
