It is not a political forum with no discussions of any issues facing our country of which I see very little to none.
It is not a political forum when the majority of the posts and/or cartoons reflect simple and pure hate for skin color or religion.
It IS being used as a judgement on The Villages. Of that I assure you.
You cannot post some of these things without those feelings being in your heart. I see folks posting purely hate filled posts with absolutely very little to do with politics. Many of those folks I have seen posting here for years parading a character of compassion and love for all. One election with the words used and it appears either they were being phoney from the get go or those words completely changed their heart.
I learn NOTHING about current events on here ANYMORE I attempted to talk issues on economics, etc on here a number of times, supplied reading material to begin conversations, and was met with either silence or mockery. That does not make me a intelligent guy, but obviously not very smart in continuing that.
I never go away mad......just total disappointment with what people are obviously carrying around with them.
Since the election when I came on here and supported and hope for anything Trump does for the country, all I read is mean spirited and hateful responses.
NO....this has become a total and complete embarrassment to know that people like this actually live here...who think politics is about demeaning others. It IS NOT, I ASSURE YOU
I also disagree that it has not crept into our daily lives here in The Villages and when I read about the disgust you all have for the protests, I think of your supporters spitting on reporters, justifying it.....using total and absolute terrible 4 letter words at rallies, justifying it. That is NOT politics in anyway.

Dear Guest: In a general sense I understand and respect your points of view. However, there are other ways of looking at this forum.
Actually there are many posters who provide information concerning current events, etc and do not resort to nasty and negative banter.
Secondly those few posters that betray the moral and civic manner of the majority of village resident only draw judgment on themselves and not The villages. I say this because there are those non-contributing types on blogs all over this nation and the population as a whole is quite aware of their presence. Hence the ubiquitous of the TROLL
Third, some people seem to view changing a position as a bad thing. Indeed it can be but it also can be a good thing because he shows intellectual growth. We all are always learning and always growing.
Fourth by now most people have learned that those individuals that constantly spew hatred and negativity eventually self consume. It s unhealthy for body and mind to be so consumed in hate, anger etc. Most of us understand that mediation, pray, laughter, live let live, etc are ingredients for a happier and longer life.
Fifth in summary I refuse to let hateful, boastful know it all's affect my life. I can only be responsible for my feelings and emotions. Hence I can only be responsible for my actions . I choose to act in a responsible and positive and sharing manner. I recognize that I can be wrong at times but then I am also right at times. And the best part of this is that so too do the majority of posters such as yourself.
This forum in my humble opinion does provide valuable information, fellowship, laughter and my personal favorite an opportunity to witness the creative manner in which individual posters react and explain their thinking on a variety of subjects.
Don't give up on us we need and welcome your positive contribution .
