Caroline Kennedy in TV's??!!!!

This was listed on the Obama website....why is this not in the newspaper? This is HUGE! You have to RSVP on the website....

Cassie, I really don't care to revisit this thread but for clarification; you're remark was premature and caused a large ruffle because of the way you presented the information. If you felt that strongly that the information should have been in the paper, you should have contacted The Daily Sun to find out their intention. If you didn't want to do that, you shouldn't have asked, "why is this not in the newspaper".

I know tabloid news is hot now but I'm not into it. I'd like to see a more even handed tact, personally. And it sounds as though Barefoot was thinking along the same lines.

In fact Peachie...I did contact the Sun...and the democratic party....and the Obama site.....NO ONE seemed to have a good answer....


I did wonder why it was not in the paper....in my opinion it should have been.....she is a BIG name for TV's....regardless of her affiliation....

I brought it to the attention of TOTV because I knew that there were several others who would want to know....and AGREE that it should have been/could have been posted in the paper....

In fact....if I am not mistaken....I was thanked (by some) for bringing it to their attention!


Bottom line is....
THIS is old news.....why do you (Bare and/or Peachie) feel the need to bring it up once again....I believe it is over!! Most of us have moved on....but thanks for wanting to clarify everything! I am sure it is appreciated.....

I guess it is always good to discuss events that are days old....just to make sure everyone has the info.....in case they may have missed it!

No one had a "good" answer? Did the Democratic party tell you they had made a press release? You were unsure and then went with your tact. Cassie, there is something to be learned here and you can be the student. You might chaulk this up as; I can do better or... continue more of the same and not learn from this life lesson.

Well perhaps what you view as a life lesson for me.....is not important to me!! You are not meant to be my teacher apparently. While I respect the views of others and have learned much from them....I choose not to learn from you...whom I do not know...and have felt nothing but distention from.....

So if your intent here is to TEACH me a lesson....thanks for trying....but I do not choose to live my life the way you see fit.....so please stop worrying about me....stop trying to teach me....I have many other respected "teachers" that offer much better advice......again.....it is old news...move along....time to start a new thought....I am in no doubt that you have one.....perhaps YOU can do better!!

Cassie, I wasn't trying to teach you, you created the stir. I simply pointed out the people responding on this thread wouldn't have been so upset if the facts were presented differently without any innuendo. I thought you just might learn from YOUR mistake. We all make them.

Rekop, I'm sure you're still upset with me calling you out on your previous posting in which you stated TV wouldn't allow the delivery of USA today. (It appears you have deleted that statement now and I think that was a good idea).

My concern is that people try to post in a responsible manner and not with untrue assertions or trying to inflame emotions with false hype. I told her the thread about Caroline Kennedy coming to TV would have been interesting enough. Let's face it, you probably wouldn't have made the USA Today gaff if it was not for her post and there were other posters who were extremely upset.

There is more than enough stress in the world lately without more being generated by such posts. If you noticed, I did not address anything about Cassie personally, I did address one of her actions.

Actually, my husband made the gaff about USA Today - he got his info from someone who didn't have all the facts, and for that he apologizes. That aside, I thought your post to Cassie was condescending. But you're right, we all don't need the stress. Let's move on.

I asked you to validate those statements with FACTS..ie., define our "Republican Regime" here so we can see how you see it because that is your feeling which is fine but it is inflamatory language thus how about explaining this "Republican Regime"

Then, you implied, said or whatever that Mr Morse would not "allow" someone to speak here...what is that based on. I can tell you from fact that your statement is patently untrue !

People I know are not even aware of political affliation, and the developer being Republican or Democrat or independent does not affect me or any other residents in anyway !

Peachie, I admire the fact that you always take the high road when expressing your opinions.

There is only one person who causes stress on TOTV and I think we ALL have a pretty good idea who that person is.

Well...I will tell you that Cassie and Rekop have always been super nice to me!!!!
Can't say that for others... I wish people would stop attacking others!!!!There is a close circle of friends...wonderful! You don't need to be mean to others.

Peachie do you remember that old, old Mark Twain story about the young kid (about 20 I think) who felt their father was so dumb - then when he returned home a few years later - wondered how his father became so wise in such a short time?

Great...I have lived here for a number of years and never had my hometown called a name as you used...that was my issue. This is a great place to live and political discussion in this forum is one thing, but I would react the same way as if you called my country a name. I am proud of the Villages and politics does not play into it at all at any time !
You made my hometown sound like a politically controlled place when you mentioned "Republican Regime" ! It is not !!!

I am all for political discussion but you cannot in anyway just simply make accusations and statements like that no matter where you live.

Another suggestion for "next time" is to join your local Democratic club, to be informed of upcoming events. However you decide to vote, you will be able to hear both sides & avoid learning about political visitors' appearances "after the fact".
