If you consulted a PC expert you would quickly learn that they do not like the use of the word Oriental they would instruct you that the correct word is now " Asian " .

They actually equate the same disdain for Oriental as they and most people would have for the " N" word.

It appears that once again the liberals have diverted from the subject of the thread when losing the discussion/debate. Interesting how the 2nd Amendment has turned into a bait and trap by the liberals using "racism" as their common tool of choice. Apparently, they are still having a problem trying to discern the difference between the first and second Amendment.

In order to gain leverage on the discussion by utilizing the "racism" ploy, first you have to have an audience that gives a rats @ss about your PC. Using factual terms that are technically correct, are not the same as racial slurs even if one perceives the descriptor as a personal affront. If these terms are not utilized with the intent to slur, then your huffing a puffing in false indignation is just plain stupid, to put it politely. It seems that it is never the subject of the perceived slur that is complaining, but a simple minded liberal that must take up the mantel of false injury and run with it.

You are the same idiots that use such terms as "angry old white men" or " tea ba**ers" or whatever you believe will anger a poster that you do not agree with. Racism is a lame attempt to turn the conversation away from the subject. Why don't you liberals on the left call up the ghost of Senator Byrd, grand dragon of the KKK and Democrat, cherished by the left and see what he might have to say about "racism?"

I can't believe I'm in The Villages, Florida after reading this forum! People trying to talk themselves out of sounding racist when actually people are all one race, humans, homo sapiens. Such hatred and anger, from people supposedly here to relax and enjoy life. None of these people can be Christians and talk like this, yet seem to hold themselves out as religious folks. I'm ashamed that thoughts like these make it to print, in a forum from here. People talking hatred about gays, pansies and Blacks and Asians is disgusting and embarrassing for this community, where we should be above these kinds of thoughts, being mature adults.

Well, according to the Bible, we are all sinners. I didn't expect The Villages to be a convent when I moved down here. But, I do get where you are coming from. I do think that you are taking it to the extreme though, because if you go to the other forums on this site you will see more courteous folk. This is politics. That's the big lie. Look around anywhere, do they live the same as "we" do? Do they act the same? Have the same values? Norms? Music? Education? Do we have anything in common? Besides a scientific name?

We're angry about the future that has been deceptively forced upon us that will gravely affect our grandchildren. We WILL be the minority in our own country in one generation. Are Asians NOT oriental? I have lived in Asia and have never heard of anyone being upset over the word Oriental. I am not going to apologize for not being PC, when I did it without malice. I was raised not to use the "n" word and I don't. At least I never did until Obama made race an issue. And I have only used it once in regards to him. I have too much respect for those in my family and my friends to use that word carelessly. You do know that NOT all Asians are Oriental, right? So, when using the term Oriental, it is describing an ethnic group, not a place. If I say he is an American, he could be from North America or South America, black, Latino or white. If I say African American, you know that normally a person is referring to a black. So, get over your PC, especially when a person is describing something. Homosexuals do not wish to be called Homos....I get it. You have transsexuals and you have transvestites. You have blacks and you have the old term of colored. You have the term black and African American used interchangeably.

This is too long and has nothing to do with the second Amendment. Just another diversion incorporated by the left to get away from the subject.

It's a word, the others are just words. Even when you substitute another word, everyone giggles because they know what word you MEAN. They don't want us to make our own opinions because we'll come to the "wrong" conclusion. That's why they tell us what to think.

In Vietnam, they weren't orientals and they weren't Asians. They were called Charlie or G**Ks.
