Considering that most Villagers are lily white and old, and a huge percentage of the posters are men, you have old, white men here. They are a dying breed and resent it. So they are angry, and some are unintelligible raving idiots. A few are rational, intelligent men...you can pick them out instantly by the content of their posts. Some are lonely and taking out their frustration with women with rants...very annoying. The rest of us are trying to weave our way around all of this to be true to the original object of the forum, and discuss politics from a polite point of view.

The guys who built western civilization, all the technology we have today...you hate us so...stop the "cultural appropriation"...STOP using what WE invented, what identifies US. Turn off the power, the water, the phone, the computer, stop driving...anything...because blacks didn't have the wheel. You get the point? Without "old white rich men" you'd have nothing. How did the native americans live when we got here? Like cavemen. How did the blacks live when we found them? Like cavemen. Is THAT what you look up to? Is that what you want? Minorities in charge? Look what they did to their own country. Look what they're doing to this country. NOTHING gets better when it diversifies with black/brown people...nothing.

I am not sure what the OP had in mind with the opening question.

Especially given the fact that the political forum in no way represents the tenor/tone of village residents.

I think I read some where that TOTV has 25,000 subscribers?
The Villages population is over 100,000!

There are maybe a dozen active participants in the political forum!!!! Half of which no one would claim as a representative of any acceptable public behavior or discourse.

So no, the political forum barely represents the political forum. The total of which gets lost somewhere in the rounding at the 6th or 7th decimal point!!!

Topics question: Is this forum a true representation of Village residents?

This question, while perhaps not intended, is like asking "when did you stop beating your wife"?

First, we do not know if all posters on Political Talk are residents of The Villages?

Secondly, we do not have personal knowledge of any one poster. So it is difficult, if not impossible, to ascertain motive or intent of the poster and more importantly the poster's state of mind.

Third, some posters appear to be simply mirroring those of their ideological beliefs. meaning that there is not any real and individual thought behind their comments

Fourth Hence these are not serious people and as such it is a waste of one's time to engage in dialogue. When faced with facts they simply deflect or deny but never engage.

Fifth, I may be wrong here but I theorize that since the baby boomer generation is said to have begun in 1945 and ended in 1954 (some report later) we are now seeing the tail end of the baby boomer generation retiring.

And since behavior got progressively more liberal beginning in the late 1960's there is quite a difference in cultural even within the baby boomer generation. The result is TV would get its share of the Cheech and Chong set.

Sixth, we simply may have want-to-be villagers dirtying up our board.
