Maybe I'm obtuse, and I wouldn't want to hold a vote on that, but I really don't find Scheuer's statement to be all that egregious. I certainly didn't get the impression that he was hoping for a domestic attack, but that he feared that the administration was so entrenched in what he perceives as a Chamberlainesque mentality that it would take such an event to stir them to action. I don't believe it is quite as bad as Scheuer paints it today, but I don't know about tomorrow. There's been nothing in the Obama administration, especially in foreign policy, that would make one rely on its consistency.

I think Mr. Muncle has the right take on this guys comments. I think we all agree that Americans, especially the liberal ones, seem to develop a memory loss of past events that shook us into becoming patriots again. Albeit, Pearl Harbor and 9/11 to mention a few. This guys comments were trying to say that the administration is so oblivious to world threats that it's going to take another 9/11 to shake us up once again. How sad is that.
