I am pretty sure that state and city workers are also in the category of people not receiving SS benefits. That is why many states have real trouble balancing their budgets. Their pension plans are far more generous than SS. Some states based their pension plans on last three years salaries.
Taxes did go down under "W". President Obama extended the tax cuts except for the highest tax rate. To leave tax increases or reform of the tax code off any discussion of balancing the budget, is wrong. |

Nobody is talking seriously about balancing the budget. That is a pipe dream.

It is a pipe dream, because both parties are taking a hard line on taxes. Republicans sign pledges not to raise taxes, and are living up to that. Democrats won't cut social programs, when taxes are off the table.
It could be getting worse with Republicans putting amendments like repealing ACA on must pass legislation. Apparently, the lessons learned by shutting down the government are a distant memory. |
There were no lessons to ever be had by the so called budget shut downs. It is a poltical game that is played and always with the same outcome.
I would venture to say less than 25% of the voters in America are familiar enough with the budgeting and accounting process to understand or address the issue. is apparent that all of Washington has no understanding either. In it's simplest form if you don't have it you can't spend it....that is how we all have to live is it not? Then why should the financially ignorant fools called our representatives, including Obama be allowed to run the government with an ongoing debt? How many corporations in America would be in business if run by the government. Creating a balanced budget is no big deal. It is quite basic and fundamental to any well run entity. Unfortunately lawyers and politicians who have never run a business or had to be finacially responsible have no concept what so ever...hence the kick the can down the road style of accounting and poltical nonsense.....that we the people stand idly by year after year. See what happens if you try to run your household by having to borrow 50 cents on every dollar you sepnd....and oh by the way there is not limit to how much you could spend or borrow! |

For those who don't know that there really are objective news sources available I recommend they check out the following for starters: PBS, CBS, NBC, ABC, USA Today and CNN. You just might learn something! |
You forgot OAN, the new kid on the block

First of all, businesses can raise their prices any time the want. Anytime during a fiscal year they are losing money, because they screwed up on the budget, they can correct their shortfall. Households have fixed expenses, and variable expenses. If you start running short of money, you cut your variable expenses.
The federal government can inflate budget expenses in every area. The federal government is so damn big, who could ever tell what areas were inflated to create a surplus to be used in areas that weren't budgeted. The federal government could also inflate expected revenue from income taxes, and other sources of revenue. Have you ever seen a federal budget, the condensed one? Good luck trying to heads or tails out of it. |
They all lean left - hardly objective.

Forget what you read and where you read it. Believe your eyes aka/action of those actors involved
Obama upon hearing news that the IRS systematically targeted conservative groups fired the IRS commissioner and promoted John Koshinen. Bear in mind that Obama was adamant that Citizens was bad law and ridiculed SCOTUS in his State of the Union . The IRS under John Koshinen is continuing its same pattern as any of the other scandals in Washington Fast & Furious, Benghazi, DOJ , clinton Charitable foundation Clinton personal server when she was SOS,etc. Specifically in the IRS case their is Destruction of evidence: on May 22 2013 IRS employees were issued a preservation order and instructed not to taper / reuse or destroy any e-mails back up tapes archive information from IRS personal computers On aug 2, 2013 oversight committee issued its subpoena for information . On Feb 2, 2014 Kate Duval IRS commissioner counsel informed the oversight that Lois lerner's computer crashed and the Inspector General discovered on March 4, 2014 that 422 backup tapes had been erased cotaining 24,000 e-mails. Ms Kate Duval now works for the State Department where she is vetting Hillary clinton's e-mails relating to Benghazi Because of the aforementioned actions and those that followed Koshinen is charged with failure to inform congress, making false testimony before congress, failure to correct the record and failure to reform IRS to protect First Amendments rights meaning he was directed by Obama to reform the IRS from their bad habits but the IRS continues to persist Stonewalling and denial are so common place with these Washington liberals that they actually believe it is standard operating procedure. As to the IRS function. My view is to start with why the taxman has any right to any of my money? I ask this because i am interested in how they will use it or if they will abuse it. Well we know which is my point. The tax system needs to be changed but before we do that we need to change the spending habits of those greedy career politicians. Personal Best Regards: |
OOOPS
"Lois Lerner had yet another personal email account used to conduct some IRS business, the tax agency confirmed in a new court filing late Monday that further complicates the administration’s efforts to be transparent about Ms. Lerner’s actions during the tea party targeting scandal." IRS finds yet another Lois Lerner email account - Washington Times |
So we have another private email account, KEPT SECRET.......
Remember when this was to be the most transparent administration ever...? |
