village golfer, no I'm not a troll...Just tired of listening to the diatribe spewed by you and your cronies...I am seriously considering a Republican, but not a chance in Hades I'll vote for a George Bush clone or one of the right wingers fronting for your party right now...If you put a moderate up there I'll vote for him/her..I'm not a lover of Obama but certainly not ready to step back to the stone age either...Alll INCUMBENTS OUT...how about that? Do that for three elections and we'll impose term limits and at the same time do away with professional/corrupt politicians in love with the corporate world and not looking out for constituent's best interest...

I have never said who I will vote for in 2012. You can speculate at will, but I will announce my candidate in the near future. Can Bubba Clinton run again? If not, I nominate Monica Lewinsky, and Bubba can run as Vice President, is that legal?

You are da@m lucky you live in America...

Only here are you able to make such insignificant, but hateful comments which offend many people; their thoughts, their ideologies= and are allowed to continue and continue. Like President Obama, I too have been a community activist in my time, it was always people like you...loud and shrill...who
frightened me. As 'elders' we certainly don't look like role models when people
like you voice discontent, hatred, other-invested ideas. For me, I still remember that Sarah Palin could see Russia from Alaska. "We" are the government, and "we" are in this together for solutions, not divisiveness.

I wanted to steer clear of the Political Board as I've read your comments,
this is my first and last one here. I will however, I'm sure, cancel your vote,
so spew away.

Guest 09-10-2011 11:56 PM

You can consider these the words of a paranoid.

How long will it be before there are so many complaints that the Political forum is a totally hateful place. That it is a place where right-wing radicals and Republicans say disgusting things about our President and our government and the kind Democrats and liberals who try to carry on a peaceful informative dialogue in this forum. I'm sorry, that's already happening. While, how long before these goodtime liberals start complaining to the sponsors? How long before there is pressure from sponsors to shut down the file and disgusting political forum because they do not want their product associated with such vitriol.

That would certainly stop like minded people from having intelligent political discussion with each other in the villages. It would not stop it but it would seriously cut down the free exchange of ideas and information.

Think it can't happen? Read the rules for radicals by Saul Alinsky.

As I said in the beginning, just some thoughts from a paranoid.

The addition of your hate filled posts won't change the world and won't change this forum. All the hate spewers like you eventually self destructed, and if you continue, so will you.

You don't seem to be able to give your opinion without insults and personal attacks, and that will seal your fate, in time.

Liberals are almost always more aggressive than conservatives here, as liberals insist on the last word, insist on continuing debate long after it has become tiresome, and repeat complaints after they have been rejected. That could represent an attempt to waste an opponent's time or a refusal to recognize that there are legitimate reasons to reject liberal viewpoints.

Truman wasn't into name calling he just alluded to the fact that if your in the kitchen there will be heat and if ya don't like it the door swings both ways.

This way there is no character assassination which seems to be so necessary to some!!!!! A trait that is usually displayed in anonymous encounters.

Actually, in all honesty, you've done your fair share of mocking posts yourself. Not that I disagree with the ultimate point you're making very often, but mocking it is. We all do it to some degree.

My mocking of some posts I consider laughable or silly or self serving are more rooted in sarcasm (as long as I'm amused and not angry), because that's MY style.

Mocking doesn't always have to be mean and the recipient might even understand and appreciate the humor. Didn't you and your friends go at each other when you were kids?

The thing is not to overtly insult the other person. It's sometimes a fine line and that's why some are overly sensitive to the mocking, but that's how I see it this day, Sept. 12th 2011.......Back to you Chet

No, I haven't. I may be wrong, but I don't think there are too many political posters at those affairs. I'm not really a one trick pony and do post on other categories, but I'm not sure I'd really fit in.

I have only been to 2 and there were a wide range of folks and it was kind of fun. Bill and Brillo will be there and I have to thank Bill for all his help. I think you would fit in fine...no political talk there as far as I could tell. Just nice conversations.

I truly believe he thinks he is a catalyst, a thinker, a talker, a promiser and that it is up to everyone else to do something. I further believe he really feels he has addressed an issue/problem when he speaks about it...then he is done. What else could one conclude when most of what he says or promises just hits the floor when he leaves the microphone or the teleprompter stops scrolling.

He cannot assess leadership since he has never lead.

This is not bashing, it just happens to be the as-is persona/capability (or not) of the man. He talked his way into the WH...I guess in some fashion they all do, but some do deliver on SOME of what they talked about. Obama's can point to multi billion $$$$ stimulous programs and Obama care...one of which did not work and the other will not work.

Just listen as he puts "congress" between him and getting the job done...

billiethekid: Quite an intelligent summary and should have provided a basis for some good discussion but all I read for the next 8 pages was "is so, Is not, Is so, Is not, Is so, Is not. If I am correct the breakdown began with the first claim of racism. How some folks can make a logical jump from disagreement to acts of racism is a mystery. So as an American of Italian descent I'll find this instructive and the next time I hear some one say they do not like a tomato meat sauce on their pasta I am gong to know they despise Italians....I am just going to know OMG!

Rubicon,We can all just bury our heads in the sand and pretend racism does not exist..I know for a fact and have seen it in writing through private e-mails from several neighbors and friends of mine in the Villages and they are outspoken tea party members..I believe that is what is currently driving the hate towards Obama along with his stance on corporations...

That said,I don't think he's a great leader either and I hope this election doesn't end like the last one,"lesser of the two evils".

Guest 09-13-2011 04:56 PM

Racism will be here for eternity, it is human nature. It is a minority and isn't worth spending the time to talk about it. Remember, it was not very long ago that e-mails and posters of George Bush looking like a monkey were everywhere. If they put pictures of Obama looking like that would it be racist, or are they saying he is stupid like I presume the liberals thought Bush was?

let's be careful that we do not let the liberal progressive left label things as racism that are not. You say that racism will be here for eternity. Are you sure that you mean racism or perhaps you mean discrimination. I agree with you that if you mean discrimination it will in fact be here for ever. People discriminate every day. Some people like Chevrolets some people like Fords. Some people like roast beef some people like none.

Is it racism if you think that black inner-city culture is not as good as traditional Anglo-Saxon white culture? Is that racism? If you state that there are more black criminals in our jails which have beens to be true. Is that racism or just an observation of the facts. I think we have to be very careful as to what we call racism. People have been playing the race bating game for too long.

Culturalism is not racism.

Just some thoughts
