No, I don't have a problem with blonde women. You completely missed my point. My point about Megan was that FOX NEWS replaced her with bottle-blonde after bottle-blonde.

My problem with Megan is that I watched a tape of her from 2008 saying that mandated maternity leave and the FMLA was a step to socialism - and now that she's just come back from maternity leave, it's suddenly a "hallmark of a civilised society" (a tape from a recent interview).

So it's BAD until you NEED it. Anyone who has read my posts for a while knows that my problem is the DOUBLE STANDARD. Megan was hypocritical in her stance on laws requiring a person's job be kept for them while on maternity leave. Before pregnant? It was bad. After giving birth? It's good.

And then you go on to make my point. You mention a couple of other conservative/Republican women. Let's assume for a moment (since I have no reason not to) that they're more intelligent. THEY'RE NOT RUNNING. That was my point - the smart people don't get the PR. They don't get the groupies, sorry, the "pundits", going on TV saying they should run.

OMG....What the heck is wrong with learning and admitting from your life experience that you were wrong on a particular stance????

And if somebody realizes they were wrong about a stance, why would you not want them to be authentic and admit that publicly?? Do you prefer that Megyn Kelly hide the fact that she learned by life experience--not in law school--that a new mother needs time to heal and bond, and time to get thru the months (not weeks) of sleep deprivation????

A lot of us happen to respect people who are mature enough to admit we were wrong previously!!

And by the way, those of us who have given birth now look back and sometimes say to ourselves, "OMG......I actually thought I knew everything there was to know about parenting and child care, before I had kids. Looking back, I didn't know ANYTHING!!"

Honest people admit they were brought to their knees by new motherhood, and that surviving the relentless 24/7 work at home as a new mother is when you truly "get your degrees".

I knew there were going to be postings by some conservatives who were just going to put up funny gaffes by Democrats. Not being able to think of a single Supreme Court decision you disagree with during a debate with another candidate is NOT a gaffe - it is ignorance. To speak with Bill O'Reily about cloning and to state that scientists have cloned mice to have fully functioning human brains is NOT a gaffe - it is ignorance.

Obviously the resident uber-conservatives did not want to respond to the real question of my post. That question is "Why would you want to spend your hard-earned retirement money to read an obvious ghost-written book by Christine O'Donnell"? You are just going to watch her laugh all the way to the bank with your money.

But if the candidate got an answer quickly, from let's say, a teleprompter script......that would be just fine I suppose.

I am a liberal and I laugh at myself. I am truly sorry if I offended you or anyone else in this forum. I hold my candidates feet to the fire as I hope the conservatives will as well. If a liberal says something stupid or out of line.... I WILL call them on it!

I know I have my head in the sand on this one... but I only wish that more people would. We need to make sure the people who represent us have a clue and it's clear (to me) that there are those on both sides that do not.

This was a debate with another candidate. It was NOT a prepared speech. At a debate for office, there is NOT a teleprompter. It is live - unrehearsed - and a candidate is supposed to be knowledgable enough to give answers on the spot.

Please answer the question regarding the reason you and/or others would buy this obviously ghost-written book and have O'Donnell laugh at you all the way to the bank with your hard earned money.
