LOL You are funny. Will we see you in The Villages in the future?

I hope so! We have taken two week in Sept 12th-25th to visit The Villages. The lady at the "tour" center told us it wouldn't be a good time due to extreme heat. So we made other plans and told her we'd come in Jan/Feb. She said that it would be too busy! Hmmm...not sure when we are going to check it out. We made other plans for this vacation, but Mr. Katz retires in a year or two, so want to check it out soon. Bottom line...I have no clue:undecided: I just told him tonight that it's too bad we aren't going because we might have run into some of my favorite forum people! Mr. Katz is the funny one, I'm his straight (wo)man.

October and November is a good time to visit. January and February can be a little on the cool side for my taste. You should come and visit. This place is unbelievable, and nobody usually talks politics.;)

Buggyone: I understand your issue as I also am very concerned about the Poor and those that try and try, but fall short of being able to make it. As much as I want to become a shield for your gallantry, you have not separated these two groups from the LAZY. Unfortunately the lazy make up the larger part of the group that take full advantage of the Government Hand Out. I agree with the rest on this post, that they, them, those are appallingly sickening to me. EVEN WORSE is that our government does not just let them get away with it, it is encouraged.

Now that said, define your groups to those that definitely would contribute to society if they just could, and I will take up the argument in your defense.

NOTE: I said I was going on a short trip, but circumstances overtook that and I must apologize for not giving everyone a break from my posts.

Village Golfer,

Live with them for a month and tell us how much you enjoyed it.

If you think it would be fun to be poor, why not take a vacation and go to the Anacostia area in Washington DC, Cabrini Green in Chicago, East Los Angeles, or Ward 9 of New Orleans and stay in one of the local's apartments?

Live as they do for a month with them and then post a message saying how much fun you had.

Put up or ...

Buggyone, here is the challenge you issued. No-one can claim to be a leader if he will not do what he asks of others. You select the neighborhood, we'll go there together and rent apartments/houses. Cabrimi Green has been gone for over a decade, but for the remaining neighborhoods, I would prefer ward 9 in New orleans. I enjoy that city. If another one is preferable to you, then we will go there.

As you are wont to say, it's time to put up or shut up.

I am for this. What do y'all think. I think it is a good start at pulling in the handouts for those that take advantage of welfare.

I like it if it is contingent on that person getting job training and job search assistance. If the person doesn't fulfill his part of the bargain, his relief will come to an end. We've got to stop the lifetime charitable income at the expense of the taxpayer.

" The soundest way to raise revenues in the long run is to cut taxes now. The purpose of cutting taxes now is...to achieve the more prosperous, expanding economy which can bring a budget surplus." Ronald Reagan? One of the Bushes? F.A. Hayel? Arthur Laffer?

No: JFK

John F. Kennedy would be ashamed to be linked to the Democrats of today.
