Same crap, just a different set of losers. When I was at some public meetings in my town, I took some pride in that the conservatives were VERY polite while the liberals presented their case - yet when the conservatives talked, the liberals were rude, interrupting and actually "booed" ordinary citizens giving their opinion on the subject (a highway project proposed for our town). Now I see the most vile, disgusting and unabashedly racist crap coming from uber-conservatives. Those NOT on the lunatic fringe aren't much better. Limbaugh's criticism of Clinton "back in the day" was nothing like what I hear from him about Obama. Yeah, I defended Bush from the "idiot" and "trained monkey" comments before 2008. After all, you don't get certified to fly jets (whether or not they were obsolete - doesn't matter) if you're a trained monkey. I'd hoped that conservatives would be more gracious and "above" the kind of tactics the liberals used when Bush was in - but I was wrong. To be honest, I don't know how much worse the hyper-partisanship can get - but I know I'm going to find out. |

Not saying it has not happened but I am not seeing what you are describing and would like to know where it is coming from. Thanks |

This President is treated with kid gloves compared to the malice that was shown the good man who was George W. Bush, who by the way, is still the recipient of their enmity. The only mention of racism I've seen on this forum is from Obama supporter's using the race card when, as is usually the case, they have no valid counter argument. It's Obama's socialist progressive policies and disrespect for the greatness that is America that are abhorrent, and nothing else. |
Waynenet,
You are so correct. These people are just looking for reasons to hate this president. If we can't hate him because he takes more vacations than past presidents then lets change it to the costs per vacation because there probably isn't any research done on that one so I can't be PROVEN to be a close minded moron. Here is the problem: George Bush was the captain of the Titanic. Just after we hit the iceberg he handed the keys over to President Obama and jumped in a lifeboat. Now people are screaming mad at Obama because we're taking on water. I guess people just need someone to blame all their problems on. I guess he's an easy target. After all, he isn't one of us...... he's probably not a Christian. He's probably not even an American and we all know he's........ you know, ...............................black. |
It's clear when people on this blog use the term "annointed one", or they refer to our president as "Barack Hussain Obama" you know where they're getting their news. They're like robots.
Guys, I know it's easy to go to Fox News and let them tell you what to think and say but it's not best for you or the country. Try reading a paper sometime. If you struggle with the printed word try watching CNN. Just because it's not Fox doesn't mean it's automatically liberal like Fox would like you to believe. |

Turning to this race issue liberals need to invent a new reason as to why people do not have confidence in Obama like his inability to understand economic and foreign policy. Remember Obama is half white so if the racist thing could stick (its an excuse for his poor performance) then racist would only half not like him. Liberals this issue is getting really old and tiring. I would vote for Thomas Sowell in a New York second because he is both intelligent , possess common sense and would promote the greater good |
Rubicon,
You are incorrect. The thread was not about vacations but rather the number of vacations. The author of the thread was thinking that our President was taking more vacations than past Presidents. Once that idea (promoted by Fox News by the way) was debunked then someone else tried to change it to the costs of vacations. Thomas Sowell? How convient, I don't believe he's running for president. Guess you're off the hook on that one. Now about the racist issue. It's very difficult to prove racism now a days because it's not as "out in the open in the south" as it once was but there are clues. How about the Tea ****** issue that President Obama was not born in America? Did the tea ****** folks ever question McCain about his citizenship? How about George Bush? What about the question of his being a Christian or not? Why do you think so many (including some on this blog) refer to our president as Barrack Hussain Obama? Now I don't expect you to answer those questions honestly but I am simply sharing how I see things. |

Tell me about Obama's vacations, like spending millions to take his wife to New York for a day. How many exotic vacations did President Bush take while in office. He had the decency to go to his own home and carry on business. While the USA burns, Obama fiddles. |
You want examples? I'll give you examples.
A republican women's group with Obama's face on a donkey pictured on a food stamp with watermelons, fried chicken, ribs and more: http://www.pe.com/localnews/inland/s...6.3d67d4a.html The Marietta GA bar owner selling Obama-as-a-monkey t-shirts and sees "nothing racist" about it: http://www.barackoblogger.com/2008/0...ls-racist.html Hiw about saying that Obama is the next Hitler, Mao and Stalin all in one with some of the most ridiculous claims and demagoguery I've ever seen: http://www.pamshouseblend.com/diary/...on-black-storm "Republicanmarket" has a booth at the GOP convention selling racist pins: http://trailblazersblog.dallasnews.c...pin-in-it.html Someone in New Jersey thought it was a good idea to distribute leaflets to people's homes - up to 4,000 of them (this would probvably be the lunatic fringe - no named organization came out for this one): http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/0..._n_128862.html This is what I found in a fraction of a second. Now, I don't have access to the video libraries that I've seen on cable where people were marching around with the Obama-face-on-Hitler signs, etc. But it's not hard AT ALL to find this stuff. You all saw it (as did I) when the liberals did it to Bush - but you haven't seen any of it when the conservatives do it to Obama? And to villagegolfer in particular - it's one thing to ask me for examples of what I'm talking about, like Bucco did, and I'm happy to explain as soon as I have time. But you just assumed I couldn't back it up and proceeded to name-calling. You kind of jumped the gun there. Heck, I disagree with RichieLion a LOT but it's quite civil. ..and about the "you liberals"? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and simply believe you don't know me very well and haven't read too deep into my posts. Explain to me how I'm one of those "liberals" when: - I support a flat tax. - I support 2nd Ammendment AMONG OTHERS. Although I don't own a gun anymore, my wife does and I believe it is the right of every law-abiding American to defend themselves. - I support limits on welfare - I support enforcement of our immigration laws. - I support vouchers in school choice programs. - I support free speech, even (and sometime ESPECIALLY) if it's not Politically Correct. - Although I support gay marriage, I also believe that no church should be forced to perorm such a ceremony if it goes against their religious dogma. I could go on, but I hope you get my point. |

Sir, I do not know you very well, but I see you many times defending Obama and liberals so I assumed you were one of them. If you are not, then I apologize. |

Villagegolfer,
Typical republican diversionary tactic. If you have no facts or logic to back up an argument so you switch gears. You crack me up. Come on, man up. Stick to the subject. |

Secondly, I cannot think of a campaign for President that did not make fun of the "roots" of the participant, whether it be because they were from Texas, Tenn, Florida or whatever. To your point, you sure can get the hate from both sides on this wonderful internet and it WAS THAT WAY BEFORE OBAMA,...and sadly will continue well after him. I abhor racism and always have.....I am, however being totally made insensitive to it as it has become not only a pure one way street, but since President Obama became a serious candidate a oft used charge. On this forum during the election campaign I was called names you just would not believe by PM because I opposed this President. I never once mentioned or alluded to race, but my opposition was based on race according to those people. Heard Maxine Waters, a member of our United States Congress today, telling the Tea Parties to "go to hell".....gee, I consider that as bad or worse when you consider the wish and the source !!!! I opposed and still do President Obama because of his background and training...his questionable associates and his total and complete lack of understanding of this job....and since elected his complete lack of understanding why he got elected. His misreprentations and...to be kind...misstatements...NONE HAVE TO DO WITH RACE !! With all due respect, your post appealed to that part of us that I truely object to....pushing the buttons that will cause the most emotion. Those who are truely racist dont care...yet you will find no fault with Rep Waters saying what she said. I suppose I am more upset with your post since you give such credence to such small reports (AND people) and ignore others. For me the race card is so overdone and so overused to put people on some kind of guilt trip. Thanks for your response...I appreciate the links.... |
