I wasn't proposing/advocating/intimating/alluding what was right or what was wrong. Merely pointing to the fact that Obama won by ONLY 2%...and that yes that is a win as is winning by one. And that the real cause of Obama winning was the voters who stayed home and did not vote.
Merely the reality of the circumstance. Somehow there always seems to be a partisan need for a retrospective tit for tat. I am not sure what it has to do with the CURRENT dialogue. btk |

My dislike of Bush started here: He said he was running as a Washington outsider. I almost split a gut laughing at that one. Son of a a former CIA director, vice president and president; grandson of a senator. Oh PLEASE!! Then what does he do when he is "elected" (I will not allow myself to get sucked into THAT discussion)? He appoints a bunch of daddy's old cronies and cabinet members to his cabinet. Washington outsider my *** I said it started there, so I will stick to just this one point. |
Sounds like business as usual in Washington to most of us. It doesn't matter who the candidate or whether there is an R or a D or anything else after their name...they will and do say ANYTHING they think the party faithful want to hear. Obama just happens to be the most recent. And too many of you don't remember back beyond Bush because the 24/7, slanted media was not as prevalent then as it is now. Because if you could make a comparison back beyond Bush you would be saying, like Bush and all before him, Obama is nothing more than saying what the people want to hear, delivering on not much of what was said.
And of course there difference in addition to the 24/7 slanted media we have the ever present partisan mania that feel obligated to spend time on everything except the current issues. Partisan politicking is no more credible than political correctness...both are concepts designed to avoid the reality of the here and now and calling, doing saying what is right. btk |
I actually think the major television networks are the most responsible for alot of this partisan cable shows.Viewers were driven from their shows in droves because of the slant. Shows like Law and Order would throw their shots every chance they had. Years ago I would watch Johnny Carson before retiring to bed. Then Jay Leno comes out with his monologues consisting of hateful George Bush Jokes. Funny, he didn't do many Obama jokes when is got elected.
The major TV shows lost their audience and most are gone now replaced by reality shows. Good drama is hard to find on TV. The point I'm making is that partisan cable shows filled a void created by the major networks. Heck, the few times I turn on the television is for sports or Turner Classic Movies. I confess that will will watch Bill O'Reilly once in awhile.;) |
Villagegolfer, I use to watch all the Law and Order shows. One night I just stopped watching, right in the middle of a show. I just had enough of the Republican and Bush bashing. Haven't seen an episode since.
Johnny Carson slammed Republicans all the time. David Letterman is worse than all of them, in my opinion. |
Hmm.. Maybe it's good that I only watch the UK version :)

The dems flagship network = NBC
And the poster boy and Obama promoter winner is Brian Williams!! The networks play to the current admins positives attributes only in the same manner they played to Bush's negative attributes only. If they measured each with the same optics the commentary would be not very dissimilar!! It is so blatant it is disgusting!! btk |
