Katz, several weeks ago there was a debate sponsored by FNC. There were no soft ball questions. Newt complained about "gotcha" questions. I thought at the time that liberal journalists would never ask Democrats hardball questions like FOX was asking the Repiublicans. Of course, one of the moderators was Chris Wallace. Hardly a Republican.

Yes, it is always easier to say the "debate" was not very good because the moderator just tried to get the candidates to fight amongst themselves.

Shifting the blame is always a good technique - and Republicans have used it very well since President Obama was elected by a majority of Americans.

Now, who is going to be first to whine in with their "but President Obama blames the former administration all the time"? Got to be at least one of those coming.

I just wish they would ask questions that enable us to understand what these candidates plan to accomplish, and how they plan to, in a clearer way.

The best thing about the debate was the times that the candidates took the debate back by refusing to answer the "gotcha" questions and said what they wanted to say. Newt Gingrich was masterful at that, and to a lesser extent, so was Michelle Bachmann. Rick Perry, after a bad start by taking the bait to attack Romney, showed strength of conviction and refused to be badgered as evidenced by his defense of Texas' capital punishment laws.

I've heard from many of your tea party locals,some are my friends that I play golf with regularly..I feel I have a firm grasp of the tea party mantra. In theory it is excellent, unfortunately the party has morphed into what it is today and yes I've been to tea party meetings with the candidate for governor of Pa and a congressional candidate from Va so I know what it started out as..My question is related to the fact, that as I read these many posts from you and your cronies, I never see any description of any person from other party affiliations referred to other than "liberal"..A good friend of mine(republican) has the mistaken impression that all democrats are liberal, and that just isn't true..

Anyone that has studied what has taken place in dc in the last year,especially in the last three months,should be very angry..the road ahead is not going to be easy and it is time for clear thinking, not idealism at any cost.
