How far back did you go for that post?

It's also the SAME God as the Jews and Christians...

Just different "interpretations" of what God wants/demands.

I have a problem with any diety that demands anything from anyone.

The point of this post was to connect Christianity to Liberty, through the Golden Rule, as follows:

The Magic Sentences of Liberty

Liberty is a poetic term for property rights.

Therefore there are only two kind of laws:

Type 1) those that protect property rights

Type 2) and those that attack property rights <--- where fascism of all kinds live

"Have the government do unto others and their property as you'd have the government do unto you, and your property."

We can eliminate 90% of the conflict we call politics with first principles of liberty.

What could a Omnipotent God want/need from us?

To be worshiped? Really? Self esteem problem? God may very well be a woman!

Well it seems that in this nation today what we need more than ever is a belief and faith in God.

I have rediscovered the rosary and I offer my prayers in behalf of this great nation that seems to be going adrift into prolific stupidity.

Am I a Christian? yes. Am I a good Christian? I will leave that to be answered by my God.

Everything you write speaks to your state of mind. You have allowed yourself to become tainted with hate, anger and despair and hence hopelessness. You are one who needs to reflect and to engage in reaffirmations.

Indeed the world is an imperfect place but an intelligent person does not allow him/herself to remain unhappy. Intelligent people work at finding the good in this life.

One sees the ground, the other the stars"

Thankfully you and I are not wards of N. Korea gulags
thankfully we are not imprisoned for our beliefs, our politics.

Unfortunately it seems easier for you to place blame on a whole race of people or gender.

You continue to confuse "character/behaviors with color, etc"

Everything I write is TRUTH...is REALITY...is what's happening.

WHAT improves when that RACE shows up? What? Name me ONE thing that gets better when blacks start showing up. Do they IMPROVE schools and neighborhoods? No...they DESTROY them.

It IS their character...their violence...their stupidity...their dirtiness...they ruin EVERYTHING they touch.

I'm STILL waiting for anyone to tell me...what are the things that blacks improve?

graciegirl 10-17-2017 07:46 AM

I am a Christian. Not a wonderful example but still a Christian.

I love many things about our faith. I think the world is better for it.

I respect all faiths except the ones that say in their holy book that you should kill all others who aren't in your faith.

And I am annoyed with some who don't see that danger.

Why do you "respect" people who are wrong?

If I keep telling you...insisting...the sky is red...would you respect me?

If I keep telling you "God" is really made out of spaghetti and orbits the earth...would you respect me?

How about this...if I kept insisting that the genders are EQUAL in their abilities...that blacks were just as smart and capable as white people...would you respect me?

EVERY one of those statements were false...and NOT something you "respect" someone for believing.

The Bible is MUCH more violent than the Qu'ran. Christianity is the bloodiest religion in the history of the world. We've been killing Muslims at a rate of 8 every minute. Christians have been killing Muslims in Afghanistan since 1838. Christians in Germany sent 6 million to the gas chambers. Christians are the only ones in history to drop atomic weapons on a civilian population. American Christians shoot each other at a rate of 93 every single day.

There is no group in the United States less attached to its own ideals or more eager for its own exploitation than religious conservatives. Forget Augustine and Aquinas, Wilberforce and Shaftesbury. For many years, leaders of the religious right exactly conformed Christian social teaching to the contours of Fox News evening programming.
Now, according to Bannon, “economic nationalism” is the “centerpiece of value voters.” I had thought the centerpiece was a vision of human dignity rooted in faith. But never mind. Evidently the Christian approach to social justice is miraculously identical to 1930s Republican protectionism, isolationism and nativism.
The religious right is making itself a pitiful appendage to this squalid agenda. If Christian conservatives are loyal enough, Bannon promises that they can be “the folks who saved the Judeo-Christian West.” All that is required is to abandon the best of the Judeo-Christian tradition: a belief in the inherent value and dignity of every life.
The religious right is an interest group seeking preference and advancement from a strongman — and rewarding him with loyal acceptance of his priorities. The prophets have become clients. The priests have become acolytes.

These folks who insist on the labeling of other human beings never read any others"good book".

They hang on the word of avowed terrorists with an agenda. I cannot speak for all, but to be so programmed by bad people to believe the reason THEY give for being bad applies to whomever they designate, and to repel what good people say s simply hard to understand.

The Irish Republican Army did a lot of bombing back in the day. Many “civilians” were killed, many Irish supported them including many Irish Americans including politicians. “English out of Ireland” was a popular chant and I remember seeing many bumper stickers. One man’s terrorist is another man’s patriot.

No, Christians use rifles from 36 stories up to kill 59 and injure over 500 unaware, unarmed, innocent people. The rest of the time they do it remotely via the USAF.

The number of violent attacks on U.S. soil inspired by far-right ideology has spiked since the beginning of this century, rising from a yearly average of 70 attacks in the 1990s to a yearly average of more than 300 since 2001. These incidents have grown even more common since President Donald Trump’s election.
The Southern Poverty Law Center, a nonprofit that researches U.S. extremism, reported 900 bias-related incidents against minorities in the first 10 days after Trump’s election—compared to several dozen in a normal week—and the group found that many of the harassers invoked the then-president-elect’s name. Similarly, the Anti-Defamation League, a nonprofit that tracks anti-Semitism, recorded an 86 percent rise in anti-Semitic incidents in the first three months of 2017.

Scholars who specialize in the origins of Christianity agree on very little, but they do generally agree that it is most likely that a historical preacher, on whom the Christian figure "Jesus Christ" is based, did exist. The oldest Gospel, that of Mark, was written no earlier than 60-80 years after Christ was dead. People who take the Bible as literal, need to study its history.
