Believe me fella's...
some of us have worked with Harry, Moe and Curly, married them, slept with them, coddled them, had their children, and exceeded them in this world with solid brainpower and guts. Moreso, those of us who survived them, and fella's like you, know it! We know they and you are alive and well here in TV and are heralded and hallowed by you...even those of you who change your screen name.
Behold, the world of woman as bright, capable, in touch, and makers of change, for it is lo upon us....ha ha ha and there is not a thing you can do no matter how much your tiny minds and little you know what's spew venom here. Lady Doc and I are both doc's apparently. And, if her life was some-thing like mine, I imagine there was a struggle everyday against dullards like you who often tried to get in the way of deeds well done and the long way to go. You opine vague justice, your own sense of socio-economic policy, and the tiny world of partisanship in which you live. This is your only soap box and you take it seriously. No room is left for thmajority who are morecalm and moderate with regard to the world and world justice, for the many who may still believe in "hope" and "change". Anyone who has to look up (probably on Wikepedia) Hillary Clinton, needs to find either a wet nurse, or another planet on which to take up space. Why I even lower myself to respond in this forum is entirely insane to me, bahhaa, bahhaa, bahhaa, damn you got my goat this time. |

By the way I like the way you stereotype people. |
Wow! you don't take conversation very well Doodlegirl.
I am assuming you are pointing to me. My world is much larger than this forum. I just enjoying learning what others think. I am not sure why you would think that I think so lowly of women. I am married to one, same one for 39 years, that shares my office and runs our business. I think you have misplaced your obvious dislike for conservatives, men and me! You are the one that suggested I do research on Hillary. I did and since I do not have a leftist library at my finger tips I went to her personal biography site and a few others and read what I could, I can read believe it or not. I then reported what I found. Nice women I suppose, if you are with her, maybe not so much if you are not. Quote:

ME? Stereotype?
It is called a generalization, not a stereotype. However, yes, it was specific to you and yours on the political forum. Don't get antsy with me or you will be very sorry...in public. And yes, that is a verbal threat for someone who has not only changed a screen name here recently, but who continues to add to the drama when our Country is at a pivotal point in it's history. If you can't help, don't hurt.
Likewise, I think you and your cohorts should at the very least revert to calling people by their title....President Obama...President Bush...and so forth, your familiarity in terms of the calling of names is outrageous. This is MY Country, and my allegiances you are tredding upon. Like it or leave it. |
Notlongago...
I must congratulate your wife for sharing your office and your business. If
it is a success, be sure to give her a hug on your way to vote. |
You go, Doodlegirl!

Thanks Yarnspinner, I am so tired of this being called "Political Forum"
It is no more a political forum than I am an alien. It should be called the
Repub's place! I sense as we grow into our 'golden years' we are doing so kicking and screaming even after the supreme court allowed us to vote. Just Sayin. This is like lopsided justice...and people are afraid to step up to the few posters here who spend their days bashing the current administration. Maybe I did land at Woodstock, and some of that mud is still in my Croc's. |
MY Ilk loveithere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is my Ilk who voted for President Obama, my ilk who are saddened by the
burden he inherited, and confused about people who can be so hateful at a first administration President, a black man with graying hair who has more Secret Service coverage than any other President in our history. Give me a break, do you suppose you could do better? If so, get thee to Iowa. When some crazed person with your mentality puts a gun to the President's temple, will you be happy then? It is your rhetoric that causes the angst and pain in this Country. I told you not to go at it in public. I've been there and I'm a victor, more than you will ever, ever know. |

Doodlegirl, you really need to calm down. The whole world is not against you. It is just hard to discuss things with someone who is so mad and sure that her way IS THE ONLY WAY. Maybe a little room for GIVE on your side too! |

My Big Girl Pants have been on most of my life!
Suddenly we want to back off the hate and anger you spew here.
You will note that in this forum there are not huge numbers of posters, rather, recurring posters...an 'old boys (girls) network'. As long as I have breath I will speak to the ideals of this Country, the hope that we will survive current and future tribulations, and that as a citizen I will participate in righting the wrongs. While you are entitled to your opinions, it appears you don't like it much when someone calls you on your point/s. Trust me, it takes every strength and fibre of my being to pass up the "Political" Forum, and today's bigotry just came calling; I had a weak moment. Nothing I will or have said will change your mighty minds. "And that's the way the world ends, not with a bang, but a wimper." |

I'd like to know where in this entire thread that happened. I don't see it. |
And another little voice is heard from
the union! If I didn't make the point Mr. Lion, then you will never get the point. Am I supposed to kiss the Mussues fanny for working for her hubs?
I mean seriously, read from where I popped in. Make a point? Get serious...here are people spewing venom, you too, day after day, suddenly someone says, hold it, everyone goes to Wikepedia to find out about Hillary Clinton, then there is the call down to me to take a pill...really Richie, remember the poor Lion who had no heart...but he learned. I only stand to serve, my friend. I one of the constant reminders of a democracy. |

But that doesn't mean I'm gonna beat up on the other guy. We need to listen to the words; don't listen to the emotion. What are they saying? And it can be tough, 'cause sometimes they're not saying a lot. But it is worth the effort. What are they really saying? There are 16 --yes, friends, 16 loyal Americans who, for whatever reason, think they should replace the current President of these United States. I, frankly, am dubious. But I could be, might be, probably am, wrong. But I have to look carefully and weigh the criteria with great deliberation. Cheers to all. Yarnspinner |
I have to laugh when some post about this forum being one sided...repubs inferred.
I just wish some of the dispensers of critical ve4rbiage about their opposition were around during 2007/2008....when Obama and others were vying for the nomination. Your counterparts in the opposition would be crying about how lopsided the posting was. And they might even have noted how nasty it got when ANYBODY challenged ANYTHING about the dem candidates. Then after the election they all disappeared....some no doubt because they are disappointed by what the created in Washington. Others because they are realists knowing they could no longer defend the man they voted for as the talk continued to be further and further away from the walk..... and there are many new members as well as the reincarnated (those from the past with a new identity so they could come back and rail some more. And there are some of us who said we would give Obama the first year before making a final opinion on him. I gave him until his first state of the nation. In my eyes he failed to deliver on his promises...then and he still has not. The opposition philosophy has not changed hardly at all. Never stay on point or subject. Always, always bash anybody who challenges their man...and always without fail get in a Bushslap. See if the archives go back that far and you will see for yourself. btk |

Hey Yarnspinner
At first I thought you meant the 16 posters here...took me awhile. Yes, I too
am searching the potential candidates and ticking off those with the brain and brawn to maintain steam along a raggedy track. What is sad is that there is still time to see if what has been implemented can take hold. It feels remote, but still possible. I don't think any of us recognized the damage done in the previous administrations would throw this President under the bus quite as quickly as it did. |

We'll Deserve It
Since the first few responses to the initial query in this thread, it's been rants about recent historical political figures and attacks on one another. Oh, and the occasional vitriol about the President who was fairly elected in the 2008 election. I don't think there's been even one attempted answer to the initial question.
Like someone suggested in another post here, if the American electorate is as bitterly ideologically divided as the handful of posters on this forum, we're going to deserve the government we get as the result, and the life-changing effect their continued polarized inaction will have on us, our kids and grandkids. With thoughtlessness such as is demonstrated here, it's easy to see why the Congress doesn't work, and why even the super committee, which has such an awesome responsibility, has simply given up and gone home, unable and unwilling to negotiate an agreement on any single issue, even those that they admit they largely agree on. Unbelievable! But based on how people conduct themselves here, not surprising, I guess. |

I see everyone has rested up and are back at it again.
After letting it rest last evening I re-read the whole thread and what is very apparent is that even though this right leaning forum (of which I am one) has very set in stone opinions, It has been the left sounding or leaning posters that just can't help but throw flames, call names and threaten people. To me this just poisons the koolaide, which ever kind you drink, and makes it impossible to discuss anything. It is a shame that when someone can't make a point the next step is hate and vitriol. How about expanding on your point with out ending the sentence with so sort of derogatory statement or name calling. You don't know but it may give someone something to think about! And may even give you something to think about. And before I am attacked for painting with a broad brush, it comes from both side but usually as a response to an attack not a first volley. |
Congress Address The Important Stuff
Quote:
So now it appears that even the super committee is going to fail to agree on anything. That's going to result in some automatic spending cuts to kick in, with no thought or concern as to the effect or what's going to be cut. I guess that way none of the 535 will have to take responsibility for whatever cuts occur. But let me predict one other thing that I expect from the 535. Within a short time, they'll introduce legislation to overturn the automatic cuts that resulted from their failure. And we'lll be back where we started, borrowing 42 cents of every dollar qe spoend from the Chinese!. In the meantime, our Congress has decided, with the "assistance" of the frozen pizza and potato grower lobbies, that tomato paste is a vegetable and french fries are healthy. So our school kids can continue to survive on pizza and french fries for school lunches. Does it take a degree in home economics to know that this legislation is simply ridiculous...and unhealthy! |
