Did someone mention violence against this group? Who cares how .03% of the population votes? Why are you trying to make them more than what they are = a very small group of people that want to disrupt the lives of the many around them (especially the ones that don't pay any attention to them). Why do they have to make an issue of this, go in what ever bathroom they want and shut up! They get weird with my wife, daughter , or son in the bathroom and I will make them wish they had not left their house that day (and I don't care if they are transgender or not)! I get the feeling these small % groups would like a special entrance to all places, maybe one with flashing lights that activate upon use, so they can be noticed...

Precisely, what would you have done if your son or daughter came out as gay and announced they had met another person of the same sex and were going to be married?

Would you have disowned them or what?

I'd tell them to use separate bathrooms when out in public!

Your answer was stupid. Tell the forum. How you would react to one of your children being gay and getting married to another gay?

Would you still love your child or disown them?

Elizabeth Warren Native American / Cherokee Controversy << Elizabeth Warren Wiki

Seems like a non-issue.

And gender identification is not a mental health problem. Racism should be as well as hatred based on someone's gender identity.

Don't try to compare racism and color with the mentally impaired gender confused. There is a big difference. The only similarity is that you are born to a race and you can't change it, and you are born to a gender and no matter what you do in a lab, you can't change your gender. You can chop it off, inject silicone, put on makeup and a dress, but you are what you are, and you can't change it. So, just by saying you are a woman if you are a man, then it doesn't make you a woman. Identity confused is a mental issue, not a race issue. Take your acting to the stage because life is real no matter what you pretend. Give them sympathy, but do not give them the keys to your car. They can dress up as superman, but that does not mean that you let them jump off the roof thinking that they can fly.

I am not sure what the inference in your question is.

If a son or daughter came out as you say, yes for some the could be an issue of acceptance or rejection.

That would have nothing to do with accepting or rejecting the same sex marriages.

You talked about the differences between gays and blacks.

Just saying a people are equal doesn't make it so either. They've yet to actually prove their equality. We shouldn't be hiving them the keys either.

All you can say is...

"Sorry you can't get married. That is for a man and a woman. Not two men, or two ladies, or your dog or cat, or anything other than a man and women.

Have you thought about counseling? How to cope with your unfortunate birth defect?"

Once again re-stating what another has said to make YOUR point.

As for your more than usual disrespect and dissing of another....KMA!

I made my own statement.

Why the hate? All I said was, I don't think they've successfully proven their equality. We take it for granted, but the "world evidence" doesn't support that thinking. The Irish, Polish, Italians, all proved their equality. It's been 150 years and I'm still waiting. Different genetics. It matters.

What does that mean "Proven their equality"?

Guide to Law Online: U.S. Constitution | Law Library of Congress

The US and State Constitutions give people unalienable rights upon birth in the US or its territories. It does not seem to matter if they want to dress like their opposite sex or become members of the opposite sex.

Minorities, they've failed to prove their equality. Why do we need all these special programs? Affirmative action? Quotas? If they were truly equal, they'd need none of that. The Italians, Irish, Poles, they needed none of that and they PROVED their worth. Asian people look "different", nobody discriminates. Indians are BLACK skinned, they do well in this country. African blacks and American Indians, don't and seem to can't succeed.

Yes yes yes...the "law". Words made up by political men to control people. Most likely blackmailed. Only brainwashing the youth and waiting for the old to die could make us accept their perversion...their fetish.

It is really sad to know that some of our community members are so intolerant, judgemental, angry and hateful toward their fellow human beings. I wonder if some of those people are the ones that pack the parking lots at their churches every Sunday, then spew hate and anger anonymously through these posts. I tend to believe there are kind people who work make the world better for everyone, everyday. That is why it saddens and disappoints me to know of the other end of the spectrum.

And what was the reason for the nasty statement you closed your catharsis with?

Not a concern, my kids are heterosexuals...like the other 96.4% of the population. From what I can tell my kids don't hang with people that smoke, do drugs, are in trouble, or weird. My kids respect me, know where I stand on issues, they really work hard at everything they do, and I let them know I am proud of them. Not to say we have not had some struggles along the way over the last 20 years, but nothing serious (son flipped a utv and needed surgery, and the daughter has broken every cell phone she has had).

I know, you think I am lucky...I think I am too!
