Some minister can't burn Koran's because it may offend Muslims. BUT the US military BURNS BIBLES because they might offend Muslims? That is NUTS! |
I wonder
….if this pastor had scheduled a burning of the Koran on Sept. 12, 2001 how many of us would object? I speculate not many at all and we would probably cheer him on. Has the past nine years softened our outlook?
Yes, there are good reasons why he shouldn’t go forward with the burning but fear of retribution, angering Muslims around the world or troop safety shouldn’t be among them. Unfortunately our troops are always in danger while at their Middle East duty stations and our citizens are aware that a homeland attack could occur at any time. A cowering attitude is not the way to go. We as a nation pledged to “Never Forget”, but the relaxing of our attitudes seems to indicate otherwise. |
muslims burn our flag all over the world, and nothing is said, thats ok
ever hear of a christian church in a muslim area, no, nadda, not allowed, they would burn it to the ground, so we are bound to keep k.i.t.a. and go with the flow, where does it ever stop from distatesfull and demeaning bob, I am lower than low but politically incorrect! |
According to a recent news release, the pastor will NOT be burning the Quran as planned.

But the pastor thinks the imam is abandoning plans for the mosque.
This is a mess. |
I do not feel there is anything to gain from these ministers actions and personally feel it may even be counter-productive.....to burn or not to burn a Koran.....is not going to make one bit of difference in the Muslim world. The Muslim

I think there is way too much hullabaloo made over this issue. Does anyone think we Americans will score any "brownie points" with the Islamic terrorists if this minister (or any other) has a church bonfire?
For those who think burning a Koran is "scary," I would suggest you pull out footage of burning bodies leaping out of the Twin Towers to their deaths. I lost a dear friend in DC that day and almost lost another in NYC. And on the horrible day, one of my most vivid memories was seeing the thousands of Muslim men and young boys dancing for joy in the streets while burning our American flag. Personally, I think the Koran burnings is a stupid idea because in the long run all it will accomplish is to garner more sympathy and support for the Ground Zero Mosque. So, while I wouldn't light a match.....I wouldn't put out the fire either. Annabelle |
I saw an interview with Pastor Jones. He actually said that he thought the moderate Muslims should join him in the burning (this was before reports of it's cancellation) to protest the radicals.
So, Pastor Jones, if someone decides to burn Bibles to protest Catholic priests raping children, will you join and burn Bibles? |

Interesting article about what is a "moderate Muslim".
