As I said earlier, why didn't Mitt Romney, the standard bearer of the Republican Party, show up to support Scott Walker. Criticize Pres. Obama because he did not show up to deride Walker but the bigger question is why the Republican pres. candidate did not show up to support their own candidate?

As I read and understand it...the american way is to vote wherever and whenever you want and have no need to prove you are who you are. Works well, you can cast your vote and then your neighbor cant get out so cast their vote. That guy working on your lawn or your barista, or server in the local restaurant, or anyone you choose.....and their crew...you could have them also vote.

I, along with anyone who support Romney, the governor of Florida just last evening on here, anyone who supported McCain, and a vast array of folks have been called racist for much much less.

Don't like it but have gotten accustomed to it over the past few years.

But for you will change it...how is drywallers, or trash collectors, or baristas, or alarm company salesmen.....do you also generalize about them ?

Do you know the home addresses and dates of birth of those service workers you mentioned as well as what voting precinct they are registered in? That is information you would have to have before being allowed to vote - even if a photo ID is not needed.

Besides that, most polling places are open well before the working day begins and closes well after the working day ends. In Maryland, where I came from, polls were open at 7 am and closed at 9 pm.

Since I want to vote early and often (shhh) I will need to get some information from all our vendors and such and insure that I get a complete resume from everyone we come in contact with. :sigh:

I'm trying to get the word out in Wisconsin that Republicans are to vote today, and the Democrats are to vote tomorrow :)

after following this story fairly closely watching both Fox and CNBC reading both sides of the arguement it is rather obvious that no one really knows the truth. You may think you do but you don't. Both sides lie,tell half-truths,and spin everything their way,NO EXCEPTIONS. What I have realized however is that it doesn't matter anymore BIG MONEY talks and the rest of us are just pawns in the system. Unless there is true campaign finance reform all of us are just spinning our wheels. We can have some fun on this board but our words mean nothing unless one of you is a billionaire,a corporation,a union boss or some other entity with a lot of money. Millions in Wisconsin,billions in the national election,what a waste.

Some precincts are reporting as high as 90% voter turnout, presidential year records. Democrats have 440 recount lawyers on the ground, and Republicans probably have a like amount, unless they're sure they will win in a landslide. It could be a long night, or weeks, or months.
