The word “years” is simply one version of defining time. We have a sort of agreed upon definition how we use the term now. But the word had different meaning to past civilizations. And before, what was a dinosaur year? An moon year? A sun year? A solar system year? “Rubber ruler” anyone?

Both Paul Beckwith AND Al Gore were correct FOR THEIR TIME. VP GORE WAS so EARLY with his warning that the enormous oil and gas LOBBY were able to get people to laugh about Global Warming. And Mr. Beckwith was CORRECT that the Arctic ice sheet was starting to MELT. Today fully 1/3 IS melted. Everyone paying ANY attention to international events KNOWS that Russia, the US, Finland, Sweden, and many other countries have a HUGE interest in the Arctic as direct transportation route, for fishing, for minerals (lithium), and for fishing - as fishing around the dying coral reefs is also dying.
........There are pictures from space showing the Arctic ice decreasing to 2/3 rds of what it was 20 years ago. And the reason it has melted is because of our old friend HEAT REFLECTION from the CO2 in the upper atmosphere. That IS why worldwide and in Florida we have had RECORD heat this year so far in the summer. Any scientist will tell you that! So will any senior in The Villages who has lived here more than 10 years - they will tell you that this summer has been TOO HOT. 7th graders can probably tell you that this is the warmest summer that they have ever experienced.
......And next year it will be another record heat summer. The on and on for at least 10 years or until the world wakes up and starts buying ELECTRIC VEHICLES. Funny thing, China is doing MORE about this than the US is. They have some EXCELLENT E-vehicles that they can build in HUGE quantities. And they WILL be selling them to Australia, New Zealand, and others because the US is behind the 8-ball because of the oil and gas lobby HOLDING the US back. We produce ONLY 8% of Electric new vehicles. Europe does double that much and China and S. Korea are beating the US to the market (our own market).

The US can STOP its contribution to HEAT AND AIR POLLUTION, which will help the HEALTH of US citizens - we can stay competitive in car and truck production worldwide, and we can stop the continuing RECORD HEAT warnings in the summer - by SIMPLY dialing back on the sales of NEW ICE VEHICLES and buying E-vehicles.

There is no need for the world to wake up, but there is a need for better climate education - especially about the Bray and Eddy solar cycles - which is why we are still thawing out from the Little Ice Age. Eventually all the ice will melt, and then it will come back again after the solar cycles begin the cooling phases in a couple hundreds years. Enjoy global warming while it lasts.
