Default Keyless Remote for Toyota Vehicles

Aside from taking the remote to Toyota to replace the battery is there anyone else that anyone could recommend to do this for a lot less. Or has anyone ever changed out the battery themselves?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

It's usually a pretty simple job to replace the batteries. Look at the remote. If there are screws, just remove the screws. Inside you'll find the battery. Look a the battery and it will have a number and letters on it. Go to a store that sells batteries buy a replacement and install it.

If the remote doesn't have screws, I'm sorry, I don't know how they come apart.

Radio Shack is pretty helpful with things like that. I'd give them a try.

Here's a DIY article I found by doing a search on changing Keyless Remote battery for Toyota:

You might want to do a search using your make/model/year for more specific info.

Here is a you tube video. I would not buy a battery until taking the old one apart to be sure of getting the correct replacement.

What is the fear of the Toyota Dealer? They did ours and only charged about $5 or $6. If they break it in the process then they have to replace it.

If you buy the battery at Radio Shack, they will put it in the remote.
