New Plant Nursery
I visited yesterday!
Goney's Nursery and Landscaping 619 CR 446 Lady Lake (352) 753-7007 Next to Village Orchids. They have been open one month. Very nice plants and good prices. Lots of lanai type plants too- great rex begonias, staghorn ferns among others. Everything was immaculate and every plant in pristine shape. I hope they do very well! |

Since we've never heard of CR 446, we Googled Goney's Nursery and Landscaping. Since the phone number is the same, this may be their published address.

They are located on 466 across from Village Palms. They do have beautiful inventory, but the palm tree prices I was quoted were very high - starting at $400 and up. Looks like the other plants are priced competitively and the quality and selection is excellent.
Wish them luck - always good to have competition in a free market. |

Thanks gomoho! My typing was off this morning.
I did not price the palms.... the only thing I didn't look at, as they were attending to them at the time and I stayed out of the way. I have my palms already anyway. No room left at our house! I will go back soon. Saw some things I really liked!!! |

They have a new location on 466 across from Village Palms. Their prices are a little higher than Home Dept and Lowes but the quality is superior. They also have many unusual plants. I bought a great Pitcher plant in a hanging basket and it is soooo unique. Luv it.

Love those pitcher plants - where are you hanging it - inside or out? I have my eye on a staghorn that I would like to put in my new Ribbon Palm coming on Monday. I LOVE unusual stuff and backyard landscapes that can have some whimsy! Finally beginning my backyard plan and can't wait to see my design come to life.

The best way I know to describe it is that it is similar to a giant Venus fly trap. There are many varieties. Some grow in the soil and the pitchers grow upward. Mine is in a hanging basket and the pitchers droop down from a leaf and arch upward to catch rain water and insects. Right now my plant is happily digesting love bugs.

This nursery is having a big sale this weekend - worth a look. Very healthy looking product and a good variety at an even better price.

I love the idea of a nursery other than Home Depot or Lowe's. Great news and a place to snoop once I actually get to move in next month. Thanks for the info.
