Default confused on talks on Medicare and supplement insurance

Hi, sorry for another post on this but we want to return to The Villages for a longer stay but all the list on medicare is concerning. We live in Ma and are both over 65,medicare and bc/bs. No problems. Doctors bill medicare first and supplement second. My husband has had problems recently. He gets excellent care here at local level and at well known Mass Eye and Ear and no problem w/billing. Do I understand that The Villages health care does not accept Medicare or BC/BS? And we would have to go elsewhere. What do you do in an emergency
Ex heart attack, where would ambulance take you? What about Veteran health care facility? Thank you

If you have Medicare primary and BC/BS secondary it will be the same here. You just won't be accepted to one of the Villages Health primary clinics. There are many doctors outside of Villages Health. Villages Health is just one option here and they have decided to only accept a United Health Advantage Plan. The ambulance is not tied to Village Health. You can be taken to the Villages hospital or Ocala...my friends say they could chose when they had to go somewhere. Obviously, if it's critical, they'd take you to the best place. The VA has an outpatient clinic here for primary care. For specialists you probably have to go to Gainesville which is only an hour away. If you are a veteran, you should call the clinic to discuss eligibility.
I am not a veteran but have medicare and BC/BS as a secondary and it's been fine.

Florida Hospital is huge in this area. The closest is waterman (30 minute or so drive). Lots of doctor offices in the general vicinity. Several FH locations in Orlando (an hour to 90 minutes). Leesburg also has a hospital and lots of doctors. The only thing we gave up was our PCP. Villages specialists still accepting original Medicare and supplements.

If you have medicare as your primary and a supplent policy you will have NO problem with coverage and or acceptance here in TV or any where else as far as that matters.

All the above is very good and accurate info. If you want independent info call or contact SHINE. I have posted the contact info several times, so just do a search on this site for SHINE, or a Google search for Florida SHINE.
