CVS Agenda
Now you know one of the main reasons why CVS chose to yank tobacco products from their shelves.

CVS Care Mark are very savvy business people. This situation is just one more example of the goings on in health care because of the ACA laws.
As a sidebar we have once again an attack on tobacco when at the same time their is a push for legalization of marijuana....what a country |

I say it is a good thing that CVS has decided not to sell tobacco products. Darn good business practice to offer lower prices than at drug stores selling tobacco. Would I use them to save $15 each time for drug items? You bet I would!
I do not see what this practice has to do with the Affordable Care Act. Just good business acumen. |

Some ate that up, like it was pure benevolence.

I knew there had to be something behind it other than pure benevolence. CVS losing money to make money. Good business practice in disguise.

Six percent of Caremark's customers who have precriptions filled for asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease make a cigarette purchase at the same time. So now they'll have to pay more to ease the discomfort that smoking aggravates.

Let's wait and see what the FTC has to say about this. It doesn't seem like a fair trade practice, especially due to the fact that CVS can't prove that their plan will stop people from smoking. That means their plan is just a strategy to grab more of the prescription drug business away from other pharmacies.
That's what it looks like to a non-drug user like me. Last edited by Villages PL; 10-24-2014 at 12:41 PM. Reason: Inserted the word drug |

Waiting for Federal Trade Commission intervention sounds like big government to me.

If CVS really cared about anyone's health, they would stop selling candy, chips, soda and other junk foods.
