Default Who Accepts Tricare For Life

New to TV. Talked to United Health and they said to sign upwith them I would have to remove myself from Tricare. Did anyone else experience this? Is it better to keep Tricare or switch to UH? Thanks

Go discuss this with SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs Of Elders). The service is free and they will offer you expert advice. See Page 29 of the Receration News supplement to the Thursday issues of The Villages Daily Sun for more information on SHINE and when/where you can meet with them.

As an aside, having Medicare as Primary and Tricare For Life as Secondary Insurance gives you the "Cadillac" of health insurance. I would never do anything to disrupt that service.

I am a Tricare for Life user and medicare and as previous poster said. I am not about to give that up. I have had Dr.'s tell me that I had best coverage I could get. Also cost is really a great deal for your Tricare for Life.
All Dr.'s I use accept tricare for life. I have had no issues with a Dr. accepting it.

A while back we received a mailing from UHC that seemed to be specifically targeted to trying to get Tricare for Life subscribers to sign up for their plan. Did some follow up and there seemed to be absolutely no advantages, other than being able to gain access to The Villages Health Care System, because of their moratorium on accepting patients not in the UHC system.

I'm doing just fine outside the system!

Do Not- Do Not give up TCL. Don't pay attention to people who are on this forum that are ignorant of the program or benefits.

Wife and I have been TCL for 12 years in Md and now Florida. Never had any Medicare Doc refuse TCL. It is clearly the best supplement available.

We have never paid a co pay . Our drug expenses at market would be approx. $750 per month. With TCL we average less that $50 per month. You have earned this benefit, please be careful and get all the facts

If you have any questions please feel free to PM me. Totally seemless when moving down here

Absolutely do not give up Tricare for Life. This is an earned benefit and nothing out there compares. I spoke with a United Healthcare representative when I was looking into The Villages Health System and he told me I couldn't do better than TCL, even though The Villages Health System doesn't accept it. There are plenty of physicians in the area that accept Medicare and Tricare covers most or all of your co-pays and provides excellent drug coverage.

As has been posted, do not even consider giving up TriCare for Life. Since we moved here in 2010 both my wife and myself have had several hospitalizations, and I have 5 regular different specialists. We have never received a bill for anything. They also this is the best combination that is available, bar none. Stay completely away from villages "stuff" and ARP.

Please DO NOT give up Tricare! Mom was just in the hospital for 3 weeks and received a bill for over $88,000. Her cost? Nothing. Tricare picked up everything that Medicare didn't pay. As Bryan posted earlier, this is the Cadillac of insurance coverage. There is nothing that compares.
