Default The Flies of Son Rise Cafe

We occasionally eat breakfast at the Son Rise Café. I call it the Salt Lick Café due the abundance of NaCl in all of their meats. The grits, which need salt don't get any, but I digress. This morning there were quite a few flies buzzing around the place and they caught the attention of one waitress in particular. She apparently decided to slay as many as she could and periodically picked up her weapon of choice...a menu. After each successful mission, she simply put the menu back into the stack of menus and went about her business which did not include cleaning the table upon which the fly had been swatted. Since the Son Rise Café literally has flies on the menu, IHOP, here we come.

OP, Suggest you print out a copy and give to the manager, so they know what is going on. Might also suggest some discreetly placed fly traps.

I would have definitely said something. That's just gross to use a menu that I may hold !!

I am not really interested in helping them identify and resolve the issue. I would never eat there again if they swore to disinfect the whole business from top to bottom on an hourly basis.

They do get good reviews on Trip Advisor and the Villages Gourmet Club Website.

Well well another person in TV THAT FEELS ITS THEIR DUTY TO PUBLICLY post a negative comment to hurt a locally run business. The bigger person would have spoken to owner and not true to ruin any sinews for someone. It's easy to spout off when you atent face to face. Shame on you

I reject your reality and substitute my own which follows: I don't give a damn if the owner knows about or corrects the problem. Anyone who reads my anecdote has the freedom to evaluate the restaurant themselves or to take my word for it. Either way, I don't care.

Someone should alert the Son Rise Café of this review. It could really hurt their business. http://www.sonrisecafe.com/

True. I received a prize for a free lunch there when identifying some hidden objects in pictures of a sponsor of Talk of the Villages. I never have been there however. I am sure someone will notify them.

Let me see. a waitress is standing in broad daylight in the presence of every patron swatting flies with a menu , an act that would produce noise and some posters thinks management needs to know. If management missed that episode they have bigger problems than that waitress.

You would think that a business dealing with an overabundance of flies would have dealt with the problem immediately

Interesting because we met with friends for breakfast on Wednesday and Sons was one of our options but we ended up choosing Bob Evans
