Default Mark's Prime Steakhouse in Ocala

Had an excellent meal at Mark's Prime Steakhouse in Ocala last night. The waiter was very attentive and the decor definitely said steakhouse. There was a nice outdoor area, and I thought how perfect the closed Friday's at LSL would convert. We'll be heading into the next busy season with it still shuttered.

Location and lack of parking are hurting getting a restaurant at the old TGIF location. I have talked to several prospective restauranteurs who say that is a major issue.

Several restauranteurs were and are interested in the property. It's the owner that is the hold up, not the location or parking.

I guess we talk to different people. Back to the thread, I have heard good things about Marks but haven't had the chance to go yet. It is on the list.

If you go to Mark's Prime Steakhouse :: Home you can see the menu.

With Cody's, RJ Gators and Sonny's filling one segment and City Fire and Red Sauce filling another, a restaurant filling Friday's space would have to be somewhat unique. The Lighthouse is unique due to its location, and Thai Ruby and the VKI Japanese restaurants are unique in their cuisine. So a chop house or a fondue restaurant might differentiate itself enough to be successful. Actually, is there even a fondue restaurant around here?

I only know of the Melting Pot in Ocala. Not a cheap place though. It can get pretty pricey for cooking your own food. LOL

Fondue?... there is a "Melting Pot" in Ocala I think. They tried one here in Spanish Springs years ago and it didn't make it.... now Gators.
As for Marks.... I think it's great but VERY pricey and would starve in the summer for sure. I've been to Marks twice in 8 years (probably should go back!

We've been here over 14 years. Where was a fondue place ? I never saw a fondue place here.

The MELTING POT was in the space now occupied by Gators Dockside. Wasn't there very long - may just a little more than a year.
