Julia Child's Boeuf Bourguignon.

I made this Monday and my dinner guests certainly thought it was worth all the trouble I went through to make it. Took about 1.5 hours to do all the cooking and then it went into the crock pot for seven hours or so. |

Would not have thought about a crock pot, Julia might have rolled over in her grave.. LOL. Have always finished in the oven. Did you get the same consistency as if you've braised it in the oven. I've always done this recipe line by line in Julia's book never ventured into anything else. And yes it is worth the hours in the oven

The crock pot allows the home to have that wonderful smell for 8 hours or more even if it tortures the dog because he cannot get at the meat during all that time. |
