Default Cell phone service at TV

Dear all,

Please let me know which carrier has good service at TV, especially for GPS. I have T-mobile. I know it's good in the city. How about TV and the GPS there.

Thank you

We have had T-Mobile for many years. Our coverage at home was spotty, and they sent us a booster for the home, and that helped. That said, I think the biggest difference was upgrading our phones. I now use a cheap Android, my wife a better Android. We have good reception and GPS works fine on the wifes phone.
If you don't live here but are moving to The Villages, I would wait until you get here and see how it goes. If you have a decent Android phone or smartphone, you should be good. Good Luck !!!

I cannot help you with the GPS as we have separate GPS (Garmin) units in our cars, these work perfectly anywhere in the Villages, and for the last several years anywhere is the USA. As for cell service, we have Verizon, in general the service is good, but we have continuing problems in Spanish Springs inside some of the buildings. NOTE: if you have newer house (last 2 years??) they have radiant thermal barrier that may interfere with cell reception inside your house, some carriers offer equipment to enhance cell reception for this situation.

My husband and I both have T-Mobile and find service OK. We know generally where there are some dead spots when we are driving but they are few. Given the issues in some of the homes, it's a good idea to have wireless calling capability.

Judging by the many threads on this topic over the past many months I believe that Verizon provides the best overall coverage in The Villages. Certainly not without its warts nor associated costs. Just talking about coverage and lack of dropped calls.

Not in Spanish Springs. You need a booster, same with AT&T

Comcast will soon be offering a cell phone service using the Verizon network. It will be only for Comcast customers and will save money over using Verizon directly. I think the cost for a bundle customer will be about $45 per month for unlimited service.
