Default Golf Cart Sand Bottle Question

Here is another "Yes, I'm new to The Villages and I've got a dumb question".

So our golf cart came with two sand bottles. What is the best material for the courses to fill them with, where do I get it and what does it cost?

Thanks for not mocking me toooooo much.

At every course, both executive and champion, they have sand by the starters shacks for you to refill your bottle.

Floridao grass grows different here. it grows out so that is why sand is used to fill divits.
do not replace the divit as it will die.

Prior to the 1st tee box you will see lovely green sand.

Forgot to pick up sand ? Not too worry the AMBASSADORS will check on you during your round to see if you need it or water!

And while you're out there filling your divits (an important aspect of "Good Golf") perhaps you would take a moment to fill your divots.

Thanks to all, I'll wait until I get on a course to fill the bottles.

Default Sand bottle

Here is a good thing to know about filling sand bottles.
Eventually the screw on bottom will crack or just wear out. Instead of purchasing a new one get your hands on the plastic bottom of a peanut butter jar. Fits perfectly and lasts a loooong time!!

As a side note to this post, a snow bird in our neighborhood asked why so many people had urine bottles on their golf carts. You just can't make it up

Well, to those of us who've never played golf, it LOOKS like a urine bottle! So there.

For someone who never played golf, that's what I first thought is was. Don't feel like the Lone Ranger.
