Default noise pollution in Briar Meadow

we live in Briar Meadow and since about 2 weeks before Thanksgiving we have been subjected to noise, 24/7 from transport truck parked permanently behind Publix store in Mulberry. It is a refrigeration unit and we are told it holds turkeys. It runs constantly and is very annoying to our enjoyment of our lanai.
Are others bothered by this?
we hoped it would go away after Thanksgiving but worried now it will stay until Xmas
how is this allowed? If it were a barking dog, am sure there would be a by-law against it

Have you thought about talking to Publix and finding out what is going on. That is a lot of Turkey's!

Perhaps if you talk to Publix management, they can move the transport truck?

I agree with above, Publix advertises how friendly they are, and they may not be aware of the noise this is causing, especially in the evening (my guess). If this fails, then I would call community standards, and see if they can assist.

Perhaps our "community standards" are different from commercial businesses. That said, "where shopping is a pleasure" may not mean the same as noise necessary so that shopping is a pleasure. Is this the first time "noise" has come from trucks at this Publx?

Strange how sound can travel even miles when the wind is blowing. One house we owned years ago was at least 2 miles from a R.R crossing and we could occasionally here the train when the wind was blowing from that direction. That experience was a lesson learned. Perhaps, as others have mentioned, Publix will be a good neighbor. It never hurts to ask in a nice way and at least you should know the timeframe on this annoying noise. Good luck.

Yeah, but maybe it could pass sooner rather than later!

What did the manager say?

If discussing this with Publix doesn't resolve the situation, here is a link to the appropriate Marion County Ordinance. You'd have to research it, or ask a Marion County Sheriff's Deputy if it applies.
