I haven't, but if I did, I would toss it in the trash.

100% agree! Best to stay away from what appears to be free....and always read the fine print (that is why they make magnifying glasses!).

Yeah, what they said! It (fine print) may say something like "by endorsing this check you agree to...."

And rather than thrwong it in the trash, perhaps shred it.

I haven't and would shred it. Definitely a scam as no one gives someone "1,000 they don't know. My rule of thumb is , "if I am not doing business with you and don't know you, it's a scam".

Heck, a lot of people would not give you $1,000, even if they did know you"!!!!

Holidays are coming!!! Be careful about ALL kinds of scams. If you are not sure about something, before you make a decision, Call Seniors Vs Crimes (Consumer Complaints) and ask them if it is legitimate. Rt 466 Annex 689-4600 Brownwood & Wildwood Annex 750-1914 Mulberry area 753-7775. They are there to help you

I shredded it. He kept emailing me so I told him I didn't have a bank account so I shredded it. I told him to send me a money order so I can get to work! lol

I don't think I will hear from him again.

Take it to one of those places that will cash your check no ID needed.
