Default Sony Bravia Television Problem

Need some help from somebody who knows their way around a Sony Bravia television.

It is about 8 years old. Turned it on yesterday and heard what appeared to be a phone ringing from inside the TV. It is actually a tinney metallic sound. The sound is controllable by altering the level of the sound and, obviously, goes when the TV is muted.

The picture is still perfect. Is it time for a new TV, or is this just an easy fix? I know that we live in a throw away society, but it does not sit well with me to throw something out before exploring all possibilities.

Any and all suggestions would be welcomed, and thanks.

Check with Cason & Gaskins in Wildwood, they do tv repair and will give you a guesstimate. Very honest and has been there forever.

Thanks for the quick response - much appreciated. Will call them this morning. I also have found an online chat line with a Sony Tech so that may help too.

"If" you have dead internal speakers - chances are you can either add external speakers directly (you will see red and black "plug-in's" on the back for speakers. Or, you could add an external soundbar to handle your audio (from there you can always drop huge coin on surround sound systems and what not).

For instance this one
