Default Stolen Orchids

To the lowlife who decided to help his/her self to several beautiful orchids from my neighbors back yard, you ought to be ashamed of yourself. Did you sell them to acquire some quick cash or did you need to spruce up your landscaping?
If any of our TOTV readers happen to notice several beautiful orchids that recently showed up in your area I'd appreciate a pm regarding the location. BTW, the police were notified.

They dug them out, roots and all? And in the back yard? Are they expensive?

what a blooming idiot to steal your orchids. You might want to notify the orchid club, I don't know why but you might want to.

Neptune plant or Air fern is a name given to a product that is composed of a species of marine animal called Sertularia argentea, also known as the "sea fir". (Wikipedia)
Air Fern is sold as an an artificially preserved decoration- not sold as a living plant.

Orchids are not, not, NOT of the 'air fern family'.

MOST varieties of Orchids are Epiphyte (grows harmlessly on another plant in Nature)
Some however, are Terrestrial (grows in soil) and ARE planted in the ground in our zone.

Hope they find a more secure way to enjoy orchids- what a shame.

I have very many rare camouflage orchids in my pine straw mulch. They are rare because they look like weeds. I hope nobody takes them. I will pm you my address if you would like to see for yourself and tell you when I am golfing.

I've learned throughout life that if it's not bolted down, locked up or hidden from view, someone (and that includes Villagers) will steal it. Not saying it was a Villager, just that if given a chance, some will lie, cheat, steal, drive drunk, do drugs, put a gun to their wife's head, etc., etc.

These were several beautiful orchids that were in hanging pots in my neighbors backyard.
Appreciate comments of interest and concern and see no purpose for the bobcat, coyote or vegan coyote comments.
