Default What makes the Villages a Great Place

The Villages have a large amount of amenities and activities. In my opinion it is the best 55+ community in the US, but this is not the reason it is GREAT . It's the people who live here that make it great. My wife and I moved here on Monday Oct 20th, to our new home in the Village of Lynnhaven, as any new Villager the first week is very hectic. My wife went shopping today at Walmart, after loading the car, she left her hand bag in the cart and drove home. When she arrived home she realized the hand bag was missing, so back to Walmart. The bag was no ware to be found, I know at this point she has to have a lot of anxiety. All of a sudden a man came up to her and asked if she was missing a hand bag, he had found in the cart. He tried to call but was calling our # in MA. His name is Michael, I found out his name from the messages he left. He wanted nothing, but to insure the bag got to it's rightful owner. He waited in the parking lot hoping some one would return. I have his phone # and intend on calling him tomorrow. It's THE PEOPLE!

I am absolutely thrilled that we made the decision to buy and move here.

The 1st time I arrived in TV I felt safe. It was like living in small town Virginia in the 50's.

This happens all the time and I wish it was mandatory that it go in the newspaper and on this thread. In one year I have found many things, including a hand bag on cart path that I turned into the starter shack. The very few bad things about the villages are broadcasted far and wide but the truely wonderful events that occur on a daily basis are kept all too quiet.

I lost my putter at Palmetto one time because a rainstorm blew in and we took off. The next day I was playing Palmetto again and when I got to the first green and realized it was missing, it was waiting for me at the starter shack.

We are all in the same boat and do look out for each other. Welcome aboard.
