So you believe that nothing bad ever happens in TV? I agree it's a pretty safe place, but the need to use a gun can come up anywhere.

You might also consider that TV is such a safe place because so many people are carrying guns. Bad guys know this and are more reluctant to commit crimes here.

Nothing paranoid about being able to protect yourself in a very unlikely event. Do you only where you seat belt when you think that you might get in an accident? Is it paranoid to wear a seatbelt when going to pick up your mail?
