Most of them can't even be properly called "ponds" ... more like drainage impoundments or puddles.
& a "sink hole" draining a pretend lake, works much better for The Villages' drainage system. The whole point is to get water back into the aquifer.

We live on a retention pond, it's very peaceful, not too big, has homes on two sides, maybe 10 or so, it is well landscaped and maintained, lots of wildlife, and did I say very peaceful. We bought our home as soon as we saw the view.
