2017 Yamaha Golf Cart Electric Brake Lights
My brake lights stopped working on my golf cart, the head lights and running lights work?
I pulled the rear tail light out but it’s sealed so I can’t see if a filament is burned out. Any suggestions to check what’s wrong? The manual doesn’t help and called Yamaha Customer Service but they don’t help with any of this. Appreciate any suggestions! |

Probably the brake switch or associated wires. This switch is typically located near the bottom of the brake pedal, probably under the floor of the golf cart. The rear tail lights are LED which is why they are sealed no replaceable parts. I have the equipment to test the switch, I also have a 2017 Yamaha, and i can take a look and see where the switch is located. I am in Pinellas, and could look at it over the next couple of days. Send me a PM if interested.

OP, an additional questions, try your turn signals, if these are working, then it almost has to be the brake switch. I just took a quick look at our cart, and saw some wires in the area, but not the actual switch. i will look online.

I looked online, there should be an access panel under the floor mat. The video showed this just lifting out, then there is either a factory or an after market switch added to the brake system. Should be fairly easy to work on, parts look like $50 or more if this is not an adjustment.

Chances are better that the spring broke, or just fell off the holder simple fix, 5 minutes.

Are - you - getting - 12Vs - at the tail lights? Simple multimeter or test probe will answer lots of questions and may even lead to the source of the problem?
