Looking for recommendations for electric cart battery charger repair. I'm certain the problem is in the charger unit and not the cord or receptacle. Brand new batteries, by the way. Had a cart service person look at it -- he doesn't do battery related jobs. Had the battery people look at it. Their tech said he couldn't find a short.
But, when I plug in the cord, nothing. When I jiggle the the charger unit this way and that, the "charging" light finally comes on and the needle moves. This sure suggests a short or loose connection inside the charger case. So, who fixes them? I'm told a new unit runs several hundred bucks. Unit is 4 years old. Star cart. |

I can take a look at the charger if you would like. I have also found replacement chargers 36V and 48V at 17amps for about $200. I was able to replace the connector on the charger plug for an old Polaris golf cart, their charger was almost $1000. You can search Amazon there are alternatives. Send me a PM if you would like me to look at the charger. I am in Pinellas, and you would need to come to the house as this is where I have all of my tools.
