Default STAR Cart Owners

I would like to get an update from LOTS of owners of the STAR Cart. Most of the current related posts are older, and I am interested in current feedback. What has your experience been, both good and bad. I was impressed with the STAR in the showroom, and sales pitch. So please help me and others Villagers who may be considering this cart.

I don't own one yet, but will probably purchase one within the next few weeks. My next door neighbor has owned a Star for 2 years and is very happy with it. My research showed me that they initially had quality control issues when they first started selling in the US, but they have solved those issues. The Controller and other main motor parts are manufactured in the US.

We have had a STAR cart for 3 1/2 years. Love it. Have it serviced annually. Not a single problem. The rear folding seat sold us on this model. We bought it originally from Golf Cart Connections and were concerned when the new business took over (I think it is AllStar? carts by in Best Buy Plaza). We are happy with them.

We have had our Star for 2 1/2 years now, and are very happy both with the cart, and the service. We drive it all over the Villages and have had absolutely no problems with the range. Personally, I think it is one of the most under-rated carts out there.

We have had a Star cart for about a year. Great cart. Folding back seats are very handy and the kids like the cup holders in the armrests. Golf course/regenerative mode is great! We also have a gas Yamaha. We use the Star the most.

Its good to hear some nice things about Star Carts, I have a 2007 that has just been a money pit. Right now it is in the shop and I am not looking forward to the bottom line.

We bought a used Star & my husband loves it...very peppy. After our renters caused us to first buy a new charger & then finally all new batteries we are living it again. Anyone know what the range is?

The Star cars are nice looking and have alot of cool features. The down side I have seen over time is they seem to lose their resale value much faster than like Yamaha or Club cars.

They only loose value if you sell it. We like our Star cart and with no plans to sell it, it's priceless.

One negative I know. I have a battery charger for sale. I have two inquiries from Star Car owners whose chargers have failed but they decline to buy my charger because they can't find an adapter that fits the Star Car, apparently it is proprietary to Star Car.

The above is actually my original post. I did buy a star cart soon after posting this and have been very satisfied. It is quiet, has a fold down rear seat, and when the rear seat is up, the footrest forms a well that is very convenient for groceries. I get well over 40 miles to a charge. The service has been excellent. All in all, a lot of cart for the money.
p.s. I had some trouble awhile back signing in to TOTV, so admin recommended that I just use a different user name and password. Thats the reason for the change from brostholder to barryrx.

We bought a new 2010 Star in Nov 2010. A very few minor issues were dealt with quickly by the dealership, and we are very satisfied. I personally think the Star is one of the most under-rated golf carts out there.

I posted in 2011 so will update. Our STAR cart is 4 years old and I still love it. We have the original batteries and the cart is still peppy. We have not had any maintenance issues in 4 years except for one headlight. We recently added an interior dashboard tray and a speedometer/odometer.
