We shipped our electric golf cart out here from California and sold it within two months and bought a gas cart. Trust me, you don't want an electric cart in the Villages if you plan to travel distances. You might as well be running on fossil fuel because electric requires fossil fuel to build, charge and dispose of.

My electric cart costs one sixth what my gas cart costs to run, does that mean it uses one sixth the fossil fuel? My electric cart also uses zero engine oil and zero rubber belts which seems like a savings. My electric cart generates zero emissions, that has to be good. When I tried to see how far I could go on a single charge I got bored after four hours and before I used 3/4 of the charge. Perhaps you travel more than 45 miles on your trips.

I converted my GEM car to lithium batteries and have gone over 80 miles with a good reserve. Charges back up in about 1/2 the time of gel or gm batteries. Lithium batteries also last for up to 10 years consistently.

None that I am aware of. If I had a long day of sight seeing, would not use a cart. This past Saturday huge thunder storms were prevalent and formed very fast. Getting hot now and can see more in an air conditioned car and cover a lot more area.

If it were not for smelly gas golf carts most of the repair shops would go out of business. I run lithium electric and since changing to lithium batteries about 12 years ago I have never broken down and I get close to 100 miles or more per charge. Another thing is the weight is about 1/3 of the conventional batteries and less than a smelly gas golf cart.

That is what your garage is for, sorry. The main reason to get gas as there are plenty of gas stations around. You might want to signup for kart aide so they can tow you home if the battery dies. Long rides are the best, easy to put 100 miles on in a day. It takes me about an hour and 45 minutes to get from my house to Fenney. Then with stops at Edna’s and Sawgrass, getting me over to Morse. Morse up to Spanish Springs with a trip on Moyer Loop and a stop for food and shopping. Next over the Spanish Springs bridge with a loop around the neighborhood and then over to BJs, Lowes and Walmart and the back home. After all that we venture back out to a square for som music. Great times.

42 miles had charge left but I was tired of being in the cart. 15 miles consistently hits 3/4 charge remaining.

I don't own an electric cart, ours is a Yamaha gas cart, but if I did I was sure as heck have a tow strap on board. I recently borrowed an electric for 4 days when we needed an extra cart for visitors and it had a solar panel roof that allowed us to only charge the cart once by extension card and we travelled plenty on those 4 days. It wasn't perfect, but it exceeded expectations.

By the time it takes for you to fetch your gallon of gas, my cart is back in my garage through Kart Aide. Would not happen anyway, since I am always aware of how much charge I have and how far I can go.
