Default How to tell the age of a used golf cart.

We just bought a villa and the Club Car electric golf cart came with the sale. We installed new batteries and it runs well, but we would like to know what year it was manufactured.

Any way to tell on the golf cart itself?

Thanks, Connie and Chuck

I think this page on the web at buggies unlimited will help:

Should be a sticker on underside of dash. I am not in TV for the week or I would go out in the garage and look to be more specific. Find the serial number
The first letter (or two) denotes the MODEL, second set of digits is the year and the last set is the week of production. The actual serial number is just a production sequence and doesn't mean anything to us.

You can further reference the letter codes in this chart.

http://sportstran.com/downloads/clubcar_serials.pdf

Of course that may not tell the story if it was rebuilt. You would have to look at the individual components.

First two digets of serial number:

example: AA01

would be a 2001.

thanks for the info! We figured ours was 2003 because that's when the previous owner bought the house.

That probably would be easier than cutting it in half and counting the rings.

I don't know about golf carts but I do know with ladies it's those misplaced eyebrow hairs.
