Personally, I'd go to the EZ GO store next to Publix in La Plaza Grande. If I were to buy a cart today I be there NOW.
I'd steer clear of Discount Cart world on 441 unless you're looking used. But they've been up & down.

If you are interested in a new gas cart I would recommend Carts and Clubs in Ocala(located on 441/27)...they are an authorized Yamaha dealer. Ted Dunlop offers great upgrades, the enclosures are first class. Take a look at the Villages Yamaha stores, then drive up to see the differences. His prices are competitive with the Villages. His staff is in the Villages twice a week and offers great follow-up service as well.We purchased our last Yamaha from him last year and have referred a number of our friends to him and they have not been disappointed.

we bought our cart from http://www.grandpaandgrandmasvillagebuggies.com/ and i strongly suggest that you not buy a cart until you speak with scott. he really knows his stuff and he puts together one heck of a cart. you owe yourselves the straight talk you get from scott. we learned so much that other dealers did not explain to us! they deal in club car carts, both the ds and precedent models.
contact info: ph: 352-552-8454 alt: 352-552-8478 scott and vicky are also villages residents and their business is a short ride north on 441/27. they will custom design your cart with you! you outta see the bucket seats! [not standard, of course - but neat nonetheless] you get so much more on a cart from scott than with other sellers.

I also strongly recommend Carts and Clubs in Ocala. It is a short drive up there and well worth the trip. Enclosures, lights, wheels, accessories, all seem to be better then what The Villages golf carts does to the same basic cart. And the price is about a $1000 less.

I bought my new electric cart from the EZ GO store just North of TV on 441 from Stacy. There was no pressure. I love my RXV and don't think that I will have to worry about being passed going up a hill for many years to come. It maintains the speed limit.
My husband bought his gas Club Car from Grandpa and Grandmas, and thinks he has the best cart ever made. Scott was very easy to work with and anything Burt wanted was done. We bought two starter carts until we figured out what we wanted. #1 on both of our lists was cart had to maintain speed up hills and we both have that. We don't want to speed, just go the speed limit even up hills.

Kelsie52,
My husband, Mike, and I were just in TV last week. We too started the building process and are so excited!!! We also purchased two gas golf carts from The Villages Golf Cart store in Sumter Landing. I don't know if we got the best deal from a $$ standpoint -- it seemed good to us -- and the staff was awesome. They have a 5 year warranty on new and 3 years on refurbished. We bought one of each. They also said that if you have any issues/breakdown they will come and get you and will give you a nice loaner. We are having them both customized and can't wait. They will deliver them to our house the day we close -- Oct. 12, 2010!!! ![]() ![]()

A low speed vehicle (LSV) looks like a golf cart and can go everywhere a golf cart can go. It is licensed to drive on roads with speed limits of 35 mph or less and can cross roads with higher speed limits. They make much that is inaccessible surrounding The Villages, easy to get to. A simple example, in the restaurant thread, Caveman noted he noted that a new Hamburger joint, 5 Guys, was not Golf Cart accessible. He's right, but it is LSV accessible along with such places as Best Buy, Kolh's, Home Depot, Sam's, Longhorn Steak House, Lowes and many more. I believe that this will become an even greater advantage as the areas around the Villages develop.
There are two LSV dealers close to The Villages - Columbia Par Car and Tomberlin. I suggest you visit both before you buy either a golf cart or an LSV. I have both an electric (Club Car) and a gas cart (Yamaha) and have now moved on to an LSV.

HI I can suggest you also look along RT 27/441. There are several places from as far south as Nobel's custom carts on 441 all the way to Ocala. I have been living in the villages for some time now and am a firm believer in three brands ONLY. EZ GO, CLUB and Yamaha. The dealers are on the web. Gas only for us and Street Legal a NO. There are two custom cart dealers you should look at before you buy any cart. Nobel's on rt27 about 15 miles south of 466 and Streetrods in the palm ridge plaza by Pauly's Pizza. I have a strong background in electric vehicles to me not worth looking at! Just look at the Happy Paper, Golf Carts for sale. Electric many many, Gas once in a blue moon.
