Golf Cart Windshield Maintenance
If you have scratches or a build up of unwanted debris that your normal cleaner will not remove, I suggest trying this product. I have found it to be excellent on Plexiglas windshields, visors, face shields and goggles.
I found it on line and at any Novus shop (windshield repair). I use the #2 as I find it gets the job done. It is about $10 for an 8 ounce squeeze bottle. Please let me know what you use and give me feedback on how you like this time and money saver that I discovered. Thanks! Could not attach photo ... THis product is NOVUS #2 Fine Scratch Remover. It comes in a white/red squeeze bottle. |

Novus...great stuff!
Having been in the plastic fabrication business prior to retiring I learned about Novus products.
If I have a new acrylic windscreen wether it be on a motorcycle or cart, I always clean them with Novus #1 and a soft microfibre cloth. If the windscreen is really dirty I’d clean with mild detergent water and soft cloth before using Novus. I’ve never had to use #2 or #3 though, I think that is because I use the #1 often, and before the windscreens get really bad. Last edited by Fredster; 01-28-2019 at 11:46 AM. Reason: Photos added |

Anytime one wipes the window when not being thoroughly wet first runs the chance of getting fine scratches (personal experience - Doh!) I agree #1 if that will do it. Wash regularly with lots of water and mild soap.
... but if you need it, the #2 works well to get those fine.. and not so fine, scratches out. Thanks! |

How do you know whether you need #1 #2or #3 to get scratches out.?

I use #1 on my Harley as a preventive product.
Unless you have a "new" shield, use #2 (the product, not the waste) |

I have never used/needed #3. I use the #2 more than anything on any scratches or hazing that I find on plastic and it can even help on glass to remove any road film on the inside or outside. It sounds like that kit that Kahuna found is a good one.
I bet it would work well also on golf cart fenders and such that look a bit old. I don't have any affiliation with the product, i just found this works well for me. |

I'm thinking it would be best to start with the least abrasive and only move up...if you're not satisfied with the results.

I think the worst thing you can do to an acrylic windscreen that is dirty, is to wipe it with a dry cloth.
That is a sure way to put fine scratches on it. |

I use the RainX for Acrylic and a MicroFiber towel and am perfectly happy with the results.

I have been using Novus #2 for years (when someone on TOTV suggested it and there was a Harley store in TV) on my golf cart windshield. It is easy to use and works great.

I use a product called Plexus. I purchased it at the Harley Davidson dealership in Leesburg. Wipe it on and buff it off. The plexiglass looks like a glass windshield on a car.
Driving the golf cart into the sun (morning is the worst) and I can not see any fine scratches in the plexiglass. It is actually clearer than looking through an automobile windshield which has that look of sand coming through when driving into the sun. The plexiglass is so clear it looks like it isn't there. So glad I discovered the Plexus. Heard about it on Talk of the Villages. I had a friend who had ruined the plexiglass windshield on her golf cart. Her next step was to replace the windshield. I told her about the Plexus product. Long story short.....she used the Plexus and now does not need a new windshield. It looks brand new.
