My wife and I stood at the departure point. We stopped counting at 1000. A lady next to us recorded on her phone for 47 minutes. Felt like a gigantic tailgate.
I’d also say 8/2 gas v. electric. (Note: I have no gas/elec cart preference either way.) |
Helpful kind post. Nice.

What was the route ?
Any drone footage ? What was the heat index ? |

I don't know how accurate the "mile long" statement is, but it is a reported observation. What I *didn't* read or hear is that the entire route from Brownwood to LSL was lined with carts while there were still more carts waiting to leave LSL. There were a lot of carts. There were probably more carts than the earlier parade. There probably 1,000 carts. But 4,000 seems like a bad guess or an exaggeration. |

I participated. Before we started to roll, we were told 1,000 carts. It would have been pretty easy to count, everyone came in the same way and were then lined up and staged. So at least that much.
I've got an electric, and so glad I do. The cart traffic moved pretty slow, so as you made your way south from Lake Sumter, there were a number of times the cart fumes, especially in the tunnels, were pretty strong. If you care to know, my golf cart in Fenny was at 100% charge when I left. By the time I got back from Lake Sumter, I had at least 70% left. So plenty of range left. Electric golf cart makes the most sense for our world here, IMO. Electric car? Not so much. Again, my opinion. Your mileage may vary no pun intended. |

The numbers are like the guy who tells the first story (lie) after golf. The first story has no chance.

We participated in a parade 4 years ago…While the parade officially started at Sumpter, at least 100 of us were parked in Eisenhower and then joined in heading to Brownwood. I’m also sure some jumped off and headed back North. So the counts are not total when counting from one point.

Who wants to set in hot golf cart trickling along in hot sun , not to mention blocking traffic and holding up others trying to get some where? Not me I got better things to do like watching grass to grow which IMO more exciting..:ho:

There were about 15 + rows of carts at Lake Sumter. I counted approximately 70 each row , but I could be off.
we were in the third row at the back so we left in the beginning. We got to Cody‘s and not too many people there. One did come in an hour after we got there and said they just arrived and there were still a bunch of golf carts behind them leaving like Sumter! Alot also went to City Fire and alot just went home. I’m estimating over 1000 for sure |
