When responding to a post, it's traditional to quote said post, so others have a clue as to what you're talking about...

I get so excited about watching these golf cart parades. It is almost as thrilling as when I sit outside and watch my grass grow!

That is totally incorrect. Stirring the pot perhaps?

you may be right, but thats' what was said. it did take a full hour for them all to pass by

for me it's an excuse to meet up with others and hang out en masse, the carts are incidental. the goal is to only have a good timen:MOJE_whot: and attend the after party

In order to make an apples to apples comparison you have to subtract the paid entertainers from the Aug 3 parade.

I definitely remember that one, can you imagine the number of carts that would bring out for a charity fund raiser like that today !

Yes that ambiguous group of "many people" say.... all "sides" of any issue seem to exploit that group called "many people", kind of reminds me of "THE developer", that shadowy figure with no face, and the every present "powers that be" so often referred to on here, LOL ! And I might add that dynamic phrase, "a recent study shows".....LOL, LOL, LOL !

I agree with you ! I "got it" when the big G. Book record was done years ago as a charity event, but in general, just thousands of seniors (who can take pleasure drives in their carts most any day or evening) intentionally joining in such a long line of carts.... well, seems a lot of wasted electric power and gasoline for something that surely is not exceptionally pleasurable to most people. But then, the old "to each their own" applies. I know there is an equal number of individuals who can not understand wasting half a day or more tying to hit a tiny ball into a far off hole, or why people find it satisfying to just go and stand in a swimming pool ! To me the most concerning element of golf cart "parades" is the possible impact they could have on traffic, and or, could create emergencies and/or delay emergency vehicles when seconds often make a difference, but overall, "if that's what floats one's boat" as satisfying recreation, then go for it.

The Villagers do seem to love parades and these usually feature golf carts.

Since the post was so impressively persuasive, they probably felt the convention was unnecessary :laugh:

I'd rather go to a Midas Muffler shop to watch the spark show then watch a golf cart parade. Just a stupid idea if you ask me.

NoTyranny 08-07-2024 09:16 AM

I was there and honestly seen 100's if not 1000.
Video of a small section because I was in a cart and I counted 369. That was a small section . I think there were 2or3 other starting points that destination brownwood
