Default Golf cart maintenance

Just talked to The Villages Carts. Annual maintenance now $100 plus $30 transportation charge that applies whether or not you drop off the cart or have them pick it up (in other words, $130 no matter what).

Also, when we bought our cart 3 years ago we couldn't buy the extended warranty at that time. Suddenly the 1 year extension is $300 instead of the $100 quoted when we bought the cart.

We'll be having our maintenance done by an indepent person (Todd Casey) going forward instead of The Villages Carts!

Will that effect the warranty?

I was stunned to learn the new fees when calling to schedule an appointment for annual maintenance!! In speaking with the scheduler, I was informed that the warranty would not be effected if (1) you keep copies of all maintenance performed and (2) you have the work done by a "Yamaha" certified technician....

Unless we pay $300, which we are not willing to do, we will be out of warranty. Had we known at that time, we probably would have gone with a brand new cart instead of a "refurbished" one. Sales manager was supposed to call my husband back about the $100 to $300 change; a few days have gone by and we haven't heard anything - and probably won't!!

One would think that Village Carts would be righteous when dealing with Villagers. I am surprise. May be they are just too big now.

Another reason to maybe consider Carts & Clubs in Ocala when purchasing your Yamaha cart??

I was a firm believer in The Village Carts,I purchased refurbished '09 from them 2 years ago,but really $130.00 for a spark plug,1 Quart of oil and an air filter,I don't think so,I am currently in the market to trade up to a 2014 model with more bells and whistles,I did not even consider going anywhere else until now..........
