Default Increase Torque and Top Speed - Plum Quick

I've read some other golf cart forums where the enthusiasts talk about a "Plum Quick" to increase speed and torque with no major changes required.

I'm not really mechanically inclined and don't exactly understand how this works???? Plum Quick has their own web site, maybe some of you mechanical types might want to review and comment.

This is not a simple addition of some device to increase speed. Plum Quick is a brand of golf cart motors. It requires a complete motor change.

Those PLUM-QUICK motors work real good. I have one in a
club car with the I/Q system. The motor is a direct replacement
& if you cart is on speed # 4 you will get about 24 mph. No other
parts needed.

Smile Plum Quick

I had my 2005 c/c ds reworked with new batteries and 400amp controll + 4.0 cables by the now defunct K&H Freedom carts...best they could do was 22 mph...sent the motor to plumquick in NC and they had it back rwound in 3days..installed ion 20 minutes and now get 25+mph with good torque for $225 plus shipping. They know what they are doing...check their web site and then give them a call.

How do these more powerful motors affect the carts range? Seems to me it would shorten it considerably. Other than that it sounds great, really would like better hill climbing ability!

Id say the range is cut a bit..seems like about 25-28mi on mine vs 30 prior.

Just remember... you don't get something for nothing. All these "fixes" for speed... you lose something somewhere, either torque for going uphill, or distance.
