Default PSA - Quick Disconnect Cable on Golf Carts

Some may have read a previous post, where I indicated my 2023 Yamaha gas-powered golf cart stopped and lost power while on a MMP last week, causing me to be towed.

Apparently, it is common for the quick disconnect cable to the battery to become loose, causing the cart to immediately shut down.

I was advised to keep (and just purchased) a 13mm wrench to keep in the glove compartment of my cart, as this is an easy repair if I were to break down again due to the cable becoming loose.

Want to encourage others to keep this tool in their cart for emergency repairs.

Why not just get rid of the trouble prone thing and use a traditional cable. Our older model golf carts don’t have one and are just fine without it. When not using our carts for any extended periods we just hook them up to a trickle charger, no need to disconnect the battery.
